Potential MLSE deal with Bell and Rogers and implications for the Habs

According to this story:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe...rticle2265448/

Bell and Rogers have reached an agreement with the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan to acquire about 80 per cent of MLSE, which owns the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors and a host of other assets.

and related to this information:

http://www.torontosun.com/2011/12/08...-bell-is-close

"Bell also owns 18% of the Montreal Canadiens with naming rights to its arena. But an NHL executive indicated Thursday night that the league is aware there is an imminent change in the Toronto ownership situation. One of the matters to be settled is Bell's 18% interest in the Montreal Canadiens, which must be divested at some point under NHL rules."

So if this deal gets through and Bell has to divest it's interest in the Montreal Canadiens... who might get the rights to:

1) Diffuse the games?
2) Own 18% of the Montreal Canadiens?
3) Name the arena?

Is there any chance that by an ironic twist, Quebecor becomes the answer to the three above questions?

No, because Quebecor wants to buy a team to bring back the Nordiques and will not be able to if they own part of the Habs.

Centre Des Clowns would be more appropriate.

The only thing that would have to change is 18% ownership. As for broadcasting the games and the naming of the arena they can continue to do that.

Bell can keep the naming rights and they can keep broadcasting games. They just are not allowed to have a share in the Habs and the Leafs.

Why?

'Les fantômes' have packed their things in 1996 and moved out. I hear they're quite comfortable at the Bell Centre. It's like they're on vacation, really.

Feels like on of these days Bell and Rogers will own everything in the country.

Guess they shouldn't have built the Molson Centre over that Native graveyard.

Two media giants buying the Leafs does hurt the Habs. We were getting more visibility on TSN with Bell owning part of the Habs now it will a Toronto cockfest on both TSN and Sportsnet.

EDIT: Bell Media retains the 18% of the Montreal Canadiens with an approval from the National Hockey League.

OHH, BELL OWNS LEAFS AND HABS NOW!? AHHHH

Bell owns 28% of the shares in the MLSE deal. Had they owned 30% of the shares, they would've had to part with their 18% shares on the habs.

So yeah, they own shares on both teams.

According to the press conference Bell will have 37.5% ownership.

"Each company will receive 37.5 per cent of MLSE, with the remaining portion being picked up by minority stakeholder Kilmer Sports". Kilmer Sports share will increase to around 25%

According the article linked in the previous post that is not true.
