Jonesy picked him as the player to watch in tonights game, hours after he had been ruled out of action and was reported to not have even made the trip

Then Liam jumped in about 5 mins later with "breaking" news, that Schenn wouldn't be dressing tonight. terrible. I'd expect better from Jonesy!

DEC - 9
12:01 p.m.

OUT INDEFINITELY
Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren made a statement concerning the injury status of defenseman Chris Pronger:

While Chris' knee is improving, he has struggled with other issues that are concussion-like symptoms. Chris will see Dr. Joe Maroon and Dr. Mickey Collins on Wednesday, December 14th in Pittsburgh for further evaluation. Chris will be out indefinetly.

Holmgren also addressed the status of rookie forward Brayden Schenn, who has missed the last two games due to an upper-body injury.

Brayden reported “not feeling himself” on December 5th. Our doctors believe he has a mild concussion. Brayden will be out indefinitely.

Who needs a perennial Selke candidate on pace for a 30+ goal / 60+ point season? Man, I'm glad to see the end of that guy in Philadelphia!

So Pronger and Schenn both say they are "not feeling themselves?" Seems this "virus" that is running through the team may be sexually transmitted...

Mike Richards took a hit to the head in his last game and is out indefinitely himself - concussions for everyone, who's next?

Schenn may still become a regular contributor for this team in the second half of the season if he can find a way to stay healthy. Too early to call him bust.

not calling him a bust, but he's turning out to be as injury prone as Andre Markov

Maybe we have some type of freaky friday thing going on. Pronger is Schenn and Schenn is Pronger or some other someone/thing/animal. Maybe Schenn/Richards swap since both are also out with concussion issues.

I don't see how you can judge someone as a bust before they have any real time in the NHL. He is not like Daigle or Brendl (my favorite bust - who actually has decent stats outside the NHL still) yet. Give the guy a full chance to play while healthy.

Oh no, will the NHL finally have it's first official 'headboard injury'?

Markov's entire career has been plagued by long term injuries that have kept him out for long periods of time and he has never fully recovered from. That is nothing like what Richards is going through. At all.

(From LA Kings Insider(Kings news site) Richards was cleared by the doctor today to increase his activity and began skating. Hopefully the yellow (no contact) jersey goes on by next week and he's back in action by the next homestand , because he's been the most consistant forward all year and represents 24% of their offense. They haven't won a game since he's been out.

IT was never diagnosed as a concussion officially and the fact he was cleared to do the bike by last Monday, doesn't sound lke a concussion. His head snapped back and it might be a neck injury. The NHL is so cloak and dagger hiding injuries...

This medical team is a joke.

Pronger out with a virus... Uhhh we meant knee surgery.... Oh yeah, he has concussion symptoms too.

Schenn out with an upper body foot problem... Uh we meant concussion. Or at least we think its a concussion, we aren't sure. MRIs cost money.

I thought he was looking good too. It sucks he keeps getting held up by injuries hopefully he can put them behind him, and get back out there soon. He's had some real bad luck with injuries so far, and I hope it's not a ongoing thing.

He could be out longer, past the surgery/recovery time-line, if he has a lingering concussion. I think what people are really confused about is how he went from a virus (if any) to knee surgery to also having a concussion. At sometime one would have to think, from a medical staff perspective, that something was not right to start with and what could have caused it (or is it something that never went away).

Maybe Pronger and Schenn had a head smashing contest to see who can break a rock with their head first, then each others heads.
