ANDY Murray

I saw this guys name on another message board this morning and I was thinking the same thing last night....I would welcome this guy back in a heartbeat.

Think about it, he's the only coach that took this team past the first round since they went to the SCF's....and that was 10 years ago! AM got more out of his teams and had less talent to work with....that guy held the players accountable every game. You always felt the team could come back if they were down on the scoreboard. Give that guy a skilled team like we have now, yeah I'd like to see that.

Man, it sure was fun watching the Kings between 2000 - 2002!

No.

It's not a coincidence that everywhere AM goes half the team ends up injured, and the team falls apart in the 2nd half of the year.

AM is a dump and chase coach just like TM.

I fret that the next Kings coach will be a Sutter.

Next coach should be someone NEW that is a winner, likely from the CHL or AHL level. Don't think there are good NHL seasoned coaches available now.

Did anyone else's skin just crawl?

Granted, AM did a magnificent job in the playoffs beating Detroit and almost taking out Colorado after telling the team to not bother flying to Denver if they didn't think they could win.

But as a regular season guy? I dunno..

Sadly, I think so as well. DL has a connection there. Maybe he's waiting for Brent to get fired in Calgary?

As for Andy Murray, no. I was the biggest AM support, and still am a fan of his, but his time had come when he was let go. He's the same as TM, can get a lot out of a little, but when the talent is there he doesn't make more of it. Plus he did some weird things, like not let injured guys be around the team. I understood the philosophy behind it, but when guys are hurt for long periods of time, like Allison and Deadmarsh, that just kills their ability to be part of the team.

I think we've seen the last of Andy Murray behind a NHL bench.

Love AM, but he's good for taking your team that should miss the playoffs, and grind it into a 7 or 8 seed. He isn't the guy to take a talented roster like ours to where we want to go.

I'm not thinking of Brent but Darryl Sutter. Lombardi wanted to hire him before he hired Terry Murray but Sutter was still with Calgary at the time and wasn't interested in returning to coaching. Hopefully he remains retired because I think if any coaching move is made, either it is going to involve John Stevens stepping in for Terry Murray, or that the Kings will hire Darryl Sutter. Either way, I don't view either as a solution to this team's offensive woes.

I would have said Daryl, but I think that if DL really wanted Daryl, TM would be gone by now. If Brent comes available, I could see him coming in here fairly quick. I hope not. You want to see a brutal expression behind the bench?

I don't see how a tennis player is going to help this team.

Andy Murray is a good coach. He's just not a great coach, which is what this team needs.

Swapping Murray's will likely get the same result, except the post game interviews will be slightly different. Just replace "shot mentality" with "accountability" and "playing the right way" with "don't give your problems to someone else" and you have it.

And, perhaps most importantly, his teams play like they've got a pair between their legs.

The thought of Deadmarsh involved in the Los Angeles Kings again brings much warmth to my heart.

All time favorite player. No question.
