I agree, but his transformation clearly has a role in the finality of the show.

Except his personality transformation is terrible and unfunny...

It adds depth to his character. Even though it's a sitcom, not everything has to be funny. To be honest, the fact that he remained such a flat character for so long is pretty unrealistic.

Why are people so in a hurry to get to know who is the mother?

It's the destination, not the ride.

My point is - they can add depth and make him funny. The baby stuff was painful.

Barney's a one dimensional character, either he's over the top or he's all serious and sad so it's hard to get that in between.

Really liked tonight's episode, the laughs were there a lot. Loved the theme song for Puzzles.

Spoilers:

Lack luster. Maybe it's because I'm rewatching the entire series for like an eighth time, but the episode was really lacking. I thought Robin's part was lame, Kal Penn is really annoying and needs to go. I thought Barney and Ted parts were funny, and I wish they could've added something from the past, like the original time they took over the Pub and the Beach Boys song or whatever played, they should've played that, and I thought it was kind of lame of Marshall and Lily staying away from everyone. I also wish Marshall started freaking out when the guy opened a lager on his dad's grave. Maybe play that song from the foreskins overall i feel it was just a filler, I'm okay with it, it was just...lackluster.

Young Marshall: "Wow, is there anything you don't know, Dad?"

Marshall's father: "No, I know most stuff"

That means there are things you don't know...

Also, I'm wondering if any other TV show keeps putting up as many different websites as HIMYM. And they're all fairly funny too.

Here is a link to a list of some of the sites the show has put up. The Puzzles site is OK, the calendar is pretty funny but the Menu is a bit of a let down.

Very good episode tonight! I think this season is much better than the last one.

The thing that I liked about the calendar was It looks like Ted put some thought into it and then Barney went right behind him and put in just random stuff.

Spoken Word/Screaming Moan Open Mic Night

That's another thing I don't like about the show now. Too many current pop culture references that date the show.

Wasn't a huge fan of the episode, with the exception of the Ted/Barney bits.

But what if the Vikings got shut out this week? Or only kicked FGs? Wouldn't that have screwed the scene where the Erikssons react to the Vikings TD in the cemetery?

I'm thinking about watching this series after I figured out who Neil Patrick Harris is from Harold and Kumar.

I thought it was good, Barney was back to his old self with the strip clubs and stuff. The Russian accents were bad though.

I am starting to think that we may never actually meet the mother and what will happen is something like

"Children, as I turned around, I saw her, your mother" and have the POV from the mother

They can't wait to start picking out plot holes about all the hints about the mother which end up not making sense.
