if we didn't have him this game would be different

Great game by Price. Huge 2 points. Team was sleepwalking in the first period.

Great 2 assists by Kaberle as well.

Cammalleri being on the ice in the last 5 minutes: unacceptable.

hand on the puck in the crease = penalty shot. In the rule book.

Well, a win is a win. Will definitely take it, although it would be nice for the Habs to put a team away earlier for a change. Anyone have the stats on which teams have been in the most 1-goal games? Habs have got to be one of the top 2 or 3.

Damn. I still got the shakes from that Penalty Shot and the last minutes...

I am gonna have a heart attack at 30 if they keep playing like that.

Good game, hard last half of the 3rd period. Unlucky Cammy. Lack of effort from Cole & Co on his successive breakaways. Good 1st game for Kaberle, the goal was a bit on to him, but the team was really getting a bit weak at that time, so it's not really entirely his fault

Just noticed that Desharnais was 2nd among all fowrards in ice-time with 19:50. Does his play warrant the respect he gets from Martin?

Kaberle looked good, but he didn't tied his man properly during the Devils goal.

Thanks Price for the win.
Karberle looks good.
One-line team in the few games.

Great: Price, Cole
Good: Pax, DD, Kaberle
Bad: Cammalleri, Kostitsyn, Eller

67.4 Penalty Shot - If a defending player, except a goalkeeper, while play is in progress, falls on the puck, holds the puck, picks up the puck, or gathers the puck into his body or hands from the ice in the goal crease area, the play shall be stopped immediately and a penalty shot shall be awarded to the non-offending team. See also Rule 63 – Delaying the Game.

By this definition, that was the correct call.

Seriously.

Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed.

Must have given multiple eargasms to Natey though.

I hate this F$%%^#ing sitting back oncce you have a lead. In today's NHL it's the best way to blow leads like the "prevent defense" in football.

Habs had a chance to ice it in the 3rd but botched a 3 on 1 and a 2 on 1.
Yeah you could sense it when it was 2-0 with 6 minutes left. Just had that feeling. You know the team was thinking it too. I don't think they go out there and say all right guys let's sit on a lead now. Kind of happens naturally and the more they do it and blow leads the more it gets in their heads. Hopefully today's win will get them late game confidence next time they have the lead late in the game.

- BLOW 3 on 1 's and multiple 2 on 1's and miss an opportunity to ice the game.

- Take a penalty with TWO min left protecting a lead having blown a 3-0 lead previous game.

- Give a penalty shot with under a minute left.

Yeah, if I was him, I wouldn't be so excited triple low five-ing.
Tonight he was part of the solution, not part of the problem. Against Vancouver he could have saved the win with a save on the flutter puck by Salo.

Our forwards have to start converting these odd man chances. When the hell did we last convert 3 on 2s, 3 on1s and 2 on 1s? Have we at all this season? I mean we sure as hell are getting a **** load.

This lack of opportunism is extremely frustrating.

It doesn't make the Kaberle trade good.
But Kaberle was exactly what we needed.

So? Defenseman are allowed to cover the puck in the crease. Hal Gill does it all the time on the PK. You just aren't allowed to close our hand on the puck.. unless there is some new rule?

I guess I can see how the refs thought that, but that's a risky call to make when your not 100% sure. Gorges definitely didn't cover the puck with hand, he swiped at it in the air and then it fell under his body.

Exactly. Don't know why people were calling it BS. Gorges covered the puck up. The overhead shot made that quite obvious.

Yes, I agree.

It's just confusing since it's not applied all the time.
