Desharnais is put in a favorable situation playing between 2 big guys skating like the wind..

I love Emelin but he was terrible. Granted, playing on the offside probably had a big part in that but he also wasn't as physical. Maybe they will get better together but today that didn't look like a great fit.

Seeing how the team has been playing, its pretty much the only way we can go.

I watch this team and I can't understand how a team that last year was fantastic at holding onto leads can't do it at all this year.

Also, the communication on the ice seems pretty poor, have to think that something like that is Martin's responsibility.

The addition of Kaberle helped (and will continue to help) our d tremendously. Anyone who can't see and admit that is delusional

Add Campoli and remove Diaz and we have a damn fine defense corp.

Eventually add Markov and...wow

He's being babysitted basically.

He needs the team's two best wingers in order to produce. Basically, in the ideal scenario, DD needs to be babysitted and needs to be fed top wingers to even think of reaching 50 points. That's his ceiling.

i agree that's why i think our center issue is still a BIG problem. forget gomez, dd too small for 2nd line minutes and eller may never develop the hands to be a top 6...
this should be the summer priority with blowmez's buyout money

He's actually over 51% now.

Really? Kaberle was definitely no worse than Emelin in the defensive zone tonight...

I didn't see one Kaberle giveaway as bad as the Emelin one in the first.

We are way too hard on our defense though. The reason we lose games is usually not our defense - it's usually our horrible wingers and Gomez when he plays.

Oh ********.

He produced last year without the top wingers. Cole also wasn't producing until he started playing with DD.

DD could have like 30-points this year if even half of the plays he set-up were scored on. The kid is getting better and better - and his all around game is getting better too.

I'm betting most of the time it's the D-man shovelling the puck into the goalie's equipment or swiping away from the crease with his hands, or covering it with his body after having it shovelled into him by opposing players, which are all legal plays by the definition of the rule.

I can't even think of a time when I've seen a player shovel the puck under himself using his hands unless it was in the corner or in the slot in front of the net. Seeing it happen to us first-hand will definitely make me notice it more in future games.

Education rocks.

Kaberle looked very good on the PP, but his 5vs5 still stinks. I am nowhere close to a believer, the last 7minutes, he didn't get any ice time for a reason.

You could use exactly the same words for Souray, M-A Bergeron, or Wisniewski, although Kaberle contributes assists instead of goals. Kaberle is clearly a better passer than Woe-ber.

I'm sure the big guys love getting fed by DD so the relationship is recipricol. Incidentally, cammalleri seems to play best when joined alongside Cole and DD and cammalleri is certainly not a big guy for DD.

Lets remember that Cole and Max pac were not supposed to be our 2 top forwards this year and the fact that they are should be partly attributed to DD

I dont think babysitting is the correct term to use here. He's being complimented well with his wingers but the wingers can say the same thing about DD

Oh sorry I thought you meant the players don't like him. PK is playing awesome hockey right now. And now the onus won't be all on him at the point on the PP so that's good news. Wouldn't mind seeing fewer penalties but that's about it.

He's also very good at gaining the zone on the PP. Just look at what happened when our second unit of Gorges and Diaz (the latter being the puck carrier most of the time) was on the ice on the PP tonight. It was brutal.

Habs defy those Doubting Tomas!

Nice game by Kaberle. He was a bit shaky in his own end, but nothing extremely bad. It's certainly not MAB-bad. And he was great on offense, including the PP.

AWESOME performance by Price!

An ugly finish, but a win is a win.
