Orpik hits self in the face Hamonic game Misconduct

The other discussions have been closed. This is an atrocious call which gifted the Penguins a goal and swung the momentum permanently in their favour.

Wait...was he really hurt or did he fake it? I didnt see any contact with his face. Either way that should have never been called.

Bad week for officials IMO.

That's on the isles, not the refs. One bad call caused 4 unanswered goals? Really?

He had a busted face and went off for stitches.

Orpik was bloodied and needed stitches.

Not saying that's what happened but in hockey 1 goal is enough to swing the momentum and completely deflate the other team.

Isles deserved that one for sporting such horrendous uniforms. I can't believe someone got paid to design that crap. My beer league teams have better looking jerseys.

He had his stick up, Hamonic hit him and the stick went into Orpik's face and it cut him, terrible call by refs but this thread will be closed.

It says more about the isles than the refs if that's true. 1 goal due to a bad call is never enough to deflate a good team.

OK, I see it. He hit himself with his own stick.

That happens a lot. How many times do we see a guy get a HS penalty when the guy that was clipped was hit by his own teammate.

It's a bad call, but the Isles had a 7-3 advantage with the PP. Call or no call, if you give up 6 goals, you're usually going to lose.

You mean like the phantom call on Malkin which lead to the Isles first goal?

This won't end well.

No, Orpik didn't embellish.
It was a terrible call.
It swayed the momentum, but it didn't win the game.

He should get suspended for that, there should be no tolerance for diving like this. Pathetic, must have learned that from Crosby.

1 goal due to a bad call can deflate a fragile team, which the Islanders are. You can't say they deserved to lose because they're fragile, because they shouldn't have been put in that situation.

Is it too late to remind the rest of HF that there's no video replay used on penalty calls?

Just sayin'.

Bad call. Orpik's stick hit him in the face which was the contact. I guess refs really do make calls based on a player's reaction..... (Orpik wasn't faking, just not the right call)
