Shame the sport is beset by occasional drug usage again, but MLB is not turning a blind eye anymore. Those that cheat will be punished.

Baseball is still the 2nd best sport in America. I can't wait for baseball season to start back up again.

Also, can't retroactively take away MVP's

Well this officially eliminates any notion that juicers are big headed freaks. Braun just looks like your typical athlete.

People should have known that before this happened.

if the steroids actually worked like people think, players would look like the rock.

steroids don't do that. there's no real link between ped's and actual performance enhancement.

so we have pictures of a player who is smaller when he's younger and bigger when he's older.

where's the link showing how his performance was enhanced due to drugs.

Steroids absolutely help with rehabilitating injuries and fatigue, however, which can just as easily be called 'performance enhancing' as if it improved hand-eye coordination.

please read this. studies were done by actual doctors, not guys who work for newspapers. there's no evidence, again, no evidence that steroids help players.

If Braun would give me some money out of his wallet, that would ease the pain.

HGH helps rehabilitate injuries. Andy Pettitte says that's why he used them.

We just don't know. Also too many people get confused with terminology. PED's =/= steroids.

I personally don't think the Rock took steroids. He just looks built. But he doesn't look like a freak like Mason Ryan or Batista.

Just spoke to someone familiar with the details of Braun's test and was assured he will be found innocent. If so, horrible this leaked out.

Hopefully this is true.

So Braun was a fraud? Big deal, I didn't like him anyways, he is cocky and arrogant. But basically(and i'm not saying he was likely to be one anyway)there goes his Hall of Fame chances!

Unless Braun forgets how to hit a baseball, which he won't, nope. He just turned 28 and will mash for another decade, PEDs or no PEDs. Cooperstown is a good bet for him.

it'd be nice if he learned to play defense to give them something else to vote on. lots of corner outfielders have pure power. look at his "most simular through age" on b-ref. chick hafey, fred lynn, manny, dick allen, billy williams, thome, mondesi, chipper, shawn green, teixeira. some good names, some meh names.

power alone won't get him into the hall. look at albert belle.

During the 1998-99 off-season, Bonds put on 15 - 20 pounds of muscle.

Of course, steroids don't help you hit the ball better. BUt it can help a player hit it further. Why else would Bonds HR/AB ratio rise so dramatically after he started taking HGH??

The rise in his HR/AB ratio in the latter half of his career is unprecedented. I'm sure HGH had a lot to do with that..........even considering a phenom like Barry Bonds.

As for Braun, it's pretty sad to see another player of his calibre have to resort to steroid use......if true.

Guess the steroid era never ended in baseball....

The difference is that MLB is cracking down on that. This won't affect my view of the game, I'm still eager for baseball season to start.
