The Kings' Most Valuable Player

We have discussion of this in another thread, so let's make it official.

who has been the kings' single most valuable player for the season to date?

i say frolov, especially after seeing him live last night. the guy is incredible, making plays all over the ice, creating offense on virtually every shift. the best player on the ice, by far.

Tough between Visnovsky, Demitra, and Frolov...but Frolov manaces opponents every single shift, while Demitra is an opportunist. He sure is earning his paycheck, though.

Almost a toss-up between Demitra and Frolov, but I'll go with Demitra because a) Frolov can't duplicate Demitra's half-wall strength on the PP, and b) Frolov is still more dependent on Demitra than Demitra is dependent on Frolov.

I'd really hate to start a new thread for this, so I'll just put it here. The Times has a huge, 3-page article on the Frolov-Conroy-Demitra line this morning:

Awesome article.

I love this part:

So a Russian, a Slovak and a New Yorker walk into a hockey arena

" and the only one you can understand is the New Yorker," Conroy said. "You don't know what those other guys are saying."

Anyway, I picked Demitra.. although it's really hard to just choose one guy. It's been a really good team effort thus far.

I chose Labarera because I don't think our record would be as good had he not stepped up at the start of the season with such an impressive showing. Other guys have been making their case lately, but Labs really helped us in the early going.

Tough choice between Frolov and Demitra, but I went with Frolov. The kid has been nothing short of amazing after a somewhat slow start and Murray trusts him in all situations. Against Chicago Saturday night he was on the ice the last 1:30 of the game with Avery and Belanger while the Hawks had pulled the goalie. All Kings fans gotta love that quote in the LA Times today from Frolov about playing another 12 years.

Without question I picked Visnovsky.

He's been the MVP for the last three seasons.

Conroy over the others because he's awesome everywhere... in the circle, in the room, in the neutral zone. It's not like the guy is riding Alex or Pavol's coattails.

He's been the glue as far as I'm concerned... He's a winner.. I love the guy!

Since we're talking most valuable, I picked Miller, because his value has come not only from his stellar play, but also it's coming though Gleason's play, due to some outstanding mentoring by Miller.

I would have to say Gleason. The guy has absolutely been a STUD this year. His 'no-two-line-pass rule' passes have resulted in a few goals or quality scoring chances. He's made big hits, and has played solid defensively, and you can see his offensive game starting to mature. All this for a guy that is only 22.
Not taking away anything from the other players, they've been great, but to me, Gleason has stood out the most.

No option for The Eighth Wonder of the World? Corvo is on pace for 38 points this year and is a +20!

Corvo is a definite candidate for MVP of last night's game... for the Habs. Weaver is the other player up for the award. Christmas came early for the Canadiens.

Can't fall asleep. Why are you online? Aren't you supposed to be in jail by now? I'm disappointed in you.
