Haha!

But, Ryane Clowe, I would love him in Montreal.

As for Iginla, every team would want him but what we would have to give up, I will pass.

Scott Hannan, we just got Kaberle today and I would prefer to give our younger blueliners more opportunities to play, so again, pass

Umberger, I've liked this guy for years now and I think he would be a good fit in Montreal, I would pull the trigger on this one if the price is right and we aren't giving up too many valuable assets

Umberger, Huselius and Tyutin were the players.Tyutin won't be necessary now with Kaberle deal done.Umberger with others for Gomez would probably be the return but who are the others.Unless the Habs are sending Weber then Umberger, Tyutin,Huselius could still be the deal. All we can do is wait for the coin to drop, lots of coin there.

seriously, the more i think about it, the more i am inclined to think that plekanec is better for us than staal would. plekanec > staal.

plek does all the things staal doesn't do and has similar production and a much, much better contract. the only thing staal has over gangsta is his size and that he likes to throw it around.

besides, if he really was available, i would expect burke to have an aneurysm trying to get him

Plekanec does so many things for the Habs it would be crazy to let him go. He isn't one to take games off either. Would be a hell of a duo do if we would get Staal without moving Pleks, a 1-2 punch would be sweet

Pick up Ethan Moreau who is on waivers by L.A. and put him on the 4th line instead of Darche.

Trade Weber for a prospect/pick or package him with a 2nd round draft pick and get bigger and tougher up front.

Cammalleri - Plekanec - Gionta
Pacioretty - Desharnais - Cole
Kostitsyn - Eller - Leblanc
Moreau - Nokelainen - Moen

Gorges - Subban
Kaberle - Emelin
Gill - Campoli

Price
Budaj

Weber for Brandon McMillan or Linus Omark. Young players with useful skills, struggling to hold jobs in their respective lineups. Dman for winger.

The only thing Omark is useful at is the SO.

Is Y. Weber really that bad in his own end? I was under the impression he was capable of running a PP and had a howitzer from the point.

Pens could use a guy like him to settle our PP down and have a legit point shot for once. But if he's not cracking your lineup, I'd imagine there's a reason.

Weber has more value than those guys IMHO. I think on a team with less depth in skilled d-men he would be a #4 or 5 and get lots of PP time. If MAB can get a regular shift Weber no doubt will, plus he is a lot younger, bigger and better defensively.

If I were PG, I would try to trade with Nashville.
Maybe a top six forward like David Legwand and a good prospect like Taylor Beck
In return, I would send Nashville picks and a prospect

Preds aren't interested in trading their best forwards when taking their forward depth into account and if they by some miracle decide to trade them it won't be for picks and prospects.

Its not that Weber is horrendous, hes good, has a nice pass, decent speed, and an above average slapper that can get you some goals on the PP.

However hes lost his roster spot with us because hes just not been playing great, I also think hes not meant for our system.

Taylor Beck is alright but I like the size and skating of Zach Budish, that's a power forward that would look good in the red, white et bleu.Send back Cammalleri for the two of them.

Send them Cammalleri for Zach Budish and Taylor Beck, the Habs can use the prospect depth and a big RW like Budish is good backup for the RW position in the near future.

I know he's not a big name and I'm also aware he hasn't played this year due to shoulder surgery, although i've been reading he's starting skating

But i'd love to the Habs to acquire B.J. Crombeen, I wonder what the cost would be?

Rugged winger, right handed, alot like Moen except maybe a more willing fighter (not that I think fighting is all that important mind you).

I agree with some of what Yarfangor said.

I'd add that at this point he's a young, bottom pairing dman, and the Habs have a surplus of these. Martin clearly prefers Diaz at this point.

I wouldn't say Weber is "capable of running a PP" - he's more of a trigger man, I don't think you want him being the main puck distributor, IMO he doesn't have that kind of creativity. But he does have a very good shot, and knows when to use it. Like many shooters, especially young ones, he's streaky. I imagine he'll get more consistent with time.

what about
Weber and Campoli
for
Peckham and Eager

We add some size and toughness to our blueline and 4th line and the cap hit is a wash

Peckham for Weber could be interesting. Both guys have had a hard time getting into their teams' lineups at times this season. I've always liked Peckham myself.

But the Oilers might be in the same boat as us. Do they really need another soft puckmover? They have Whitney, Gilbert, Smid...

Not interested in Eager. Everywhere he goes he seems to get a reputation as a guy who takes dumb penalties at the worst times.

Do not want Eager. Guy who has been shipped off two teams in the past year for costing them games with ridiculously dumb penalties (one being a play off game) not a good match with Jacques Martin. Or really with any competent coach who wants to win...
