Concussion-like symptoms doesn't necessarily mean concussion. It means he has a headache or something and they would rather be safe than sorry. I'm fine with him sitting a few games considering how valuable he is to the team. Some people need to chill on freaking out like his career is over.
I'd say it's the uncertainty that's freaking everyone out. Not knowing is a scary thing.

Please god, no.

Heres to hoping Giroux can come back shortly, and be the same person.

These concussions are just devastating

Well then what astounds me is everyone is freaking out over something they literally have zero control over.

It really sucks .

Anyone hope that Couturier can step into his spot on the top line? I mean, he looked damn good with Jagr.

Could have looked even better had he buried those 3 perfect chances Jagr set him up with.

No control is what makes people feel helpless which leads to frustration and anger!
Many fans have been through this mess already with Big E. Sad story.

Life goes on. To be honest id rather these guys have a healthy life then a ****** one just because of a game. Its really nothing to freak out about. **** happens. There is no reason to worry about meaningless things you can't control.

Couturier looked very good with Hartnell and Jagr, assuming that's the change. He should have scored two goals in the third period.

The frustrating thing about losing Pronger is that Gus got hurt too, and now Giroux while Schenn is out too - would've been the perfect time for Schenn to get the same chance.

Let Giroux get better, we'll see if the team can keep winning without him too.

Put Briere with Jagr.

Depth will be tested. Like someone already stated. I hope JVR will step up.

Question: So does it mean Giroux failed tests?

He passed the Impact test and are keeping him out for precautionary reasons. John Boruk tweeted earlier that he will be reevaluated and could make the trip to join the team in Montreal.

Here is impact test short description. Does not sound all that special really. Almost every player can pass it unless you are seriously dazed. By any means I am no concussion specialist. imho

•Sustained and selective attention time
•Response variability

Yea I believe that they do it immediately when they think you are concussed. They take you to a "quiet room" and a doctor examines you after the hit. So if he passed it, it is at least some good news. Giroux probably started his testing when he left the bench at the end of the 2nd

I'm not too confident that this is a good situation. Homer always bull****s us when it comes to injuries.
"Pronger's out for a day with a virus....... jk surgery out 6 weeks."
"Schenn has a minor upper body injury, should be back soon.........jk concussion."
"Giroux feels fine, he'll be ok.....but he won't be playing or traveling with the team this week.

Great news if true. Is it? Not convinced.

Came here to ask this. Just heard Dregs say the same thing (NHLN - On The Fly).

I hope Holmgren and the training staff don't have "neck" and "brain" confused

Like anything else, it depends on severity. Whiplash can include regions of the spine beyond the neck. Speculation would be strictly guessing by anyone not directly involved in the evaluations.

Neck makes sense, judging by the way his head kind of snapped. There seemed to be more strain on his neck than a direct impact to his head

We've already seen that the Flyers confuse a virus for knee surgery. I want to hear it come out of Claude's mouth.

Yea, not buying the whiplash. Flyers are notorious for downplaying injuries off the bat, then acting shocked when their player ends up on life support.
