Murray gone as Kings coach; Cake Baker in!

Quote:
Following a string of disappointing performances including their fourth straight loss on Saturday, the low-scoring Los Angeles Kings fired head coach Terry Murray on Monday.
Kings assistant coach John Stevens has been named the team's interim head coach.
Murray, who is under contract through the 2012-13 season, becomes the fourth NHL head coach to be dismissed this season. St. Louis shipped Davis Payne out to bring in Ken Hitchcock, Washington cut ties with Bruce Boudreau and Paul Maurice was relieved of his head coaching duties in Carolina.

In few hours we will hear rumors involving LA and R.Jones.
What was screen name of this HF board Flyers fan member who really liked John Stevens. Not Wolfy but the other guy with strange avatar.

Yikes, Stevens.
Oh how I grew to hate him. I surely don't miss our "breakouts" which consisted of nothing but homerun passes from goalline to redline.

Poor LA. Perhaps it will help them in the short term, though.

Underlying questions regarding this move...
1) Will there be cake?
2) What kind of cake/how much?
3) Will Brown be stripped of the C in favor of Richie? When?
4) If so, will Stevens give Brown cupcakes as a consolation?

Yep, this bud is for you John.. Really surprised by the move. Their problem is scoring. You would think with all the offensive forwards they have on that team scoring would not be a issue. Oh well that is their problem not ours.

Stevens is only the interim. He's not sticking as the full-time head coach.

Probably a good move short term, but if Stevens manages to drop the interm title, the Kings players will start wearing ear plugs in the dressing room by next season.

Stevens is great with the players. Hopefully he has learned to be a better coach with the experience he went through here and the one he went through in L.A Wish him the best

Exactly, and he also won his bet with Carter that he get Murray fired before Carter could get what'shisname in Columbus fired.
