The way this season has gone, I can assure you that the habs will make this one very tough on themselves.

Isles backup Kevin Poulin is from Montreal. Just sayin.

Interesting look at how Price may have researched Zach Parise.

Isles have been lighting the lamp lately, especially Moulson, so if we take them lightly we will lose.

As much as we struggle vs inferior teams, we tend to throw up a dominating performance once in a while. I think Kaberle continues to provide us with a boost on the PP and we win 5-2.

FREE WINGS!!

Cammy, please get your confidence back. I have a feeling Louis will set him up perfectly. His awareness is very impressive.

NJ won today, another must win. What are we hoping.reasonably expecting for this week? All wins except Philly?

Home game against a lower seed team ? I'm not sure we win this one. I sure hope that I'm wrong, though.

Are the Islanders serious with that bottom pairing on D?

I could see the habs not showing up for this one. They will be totally sluggish against a cellar dweller and lose.

Or something like that. OT defeats aren't sexy, but they still help racking up the points. way better than a reg defeat.
We still haven't lost in regulation in December...
2-0-3 though (all SO losses).

It's pretty embarrassing that other teams (and it's happened a few times this season) are confident enough in putting in their backup goalies against us. It means they feel they still have a legit chance with a backup which means they don't think very highly of our offence.

Basically. And to think we held a lead in most of those SO losses, I see our problems more as the need for a bit of tweaking rather than a complete overhaul.

Kaberle is here, that's one mother****ing tweak. GO HABS GO

I'm afraid we have been rushing Leblanc, but how long is he gong to be on the big team?

Hopefully we win that game.

Technically if you go buy ppgp we're actually lower in the standings than we technically are. Which obviously is a bad thing, however all it takes is for us to win a few and other teams to lose a few for that to change.

It's that type of thinking that will see us rise in the standings because adding Kaberle make us more of a "healthy team" than an "injury plagued one" on paper. Of course it doesn't take away the other injuries but it makes our team way better on paper.

If teams want to make that mistake based on the 1st edition of the 2011-12 habs then they'll be pretty unhappy when they lose a game to the 2nd edition of this team, the one that actually has a PP QB.

Our stats at ES/PK have been great, if our team keeps up those stats but gains even a top 18ish PP we should be fine.

After 9 games there is a decision to make. Gomez return will spell the end.

He was putting up ~PPG numbers in his first AHL season. I agree that a 50-60 game sample size would have been better no doubt but we have injuries. When Gionta is back I'm sure he'll be sent down but this is actually really smart of the management. He hasn't looked bad since being called up, is developing, will move back down to the AHL once Gio comes back, and if injuries occur before the playoffs he could very well be our next Subban.

I actually used to be in the camp that thought he would be only a 3rd line winger. I'm actually quite surprised at how well he's played considering limited AHL time and not exactly the best years in junior.

I have to admit I'm starting to think people are right in their assessment of him being a top 6 winger. Seems he has good vision/hockey IQ and a good attitude. I know it's very early but I'm liking what I've seen so far. He's going to be imo at minimum a 3rd line winger, maybe more. Solid pick by TT given the position we chose.

Can't believe a guy who grew up right in the same area as I did ended up playing for the Habs. I don't mean Montreal but Kirkland rather.
