Nine games means nothing when the player (Leblanc) is in the AHL. This only applies to junior-aged players.

But you're right, when Gomez and Gionta come back it's probably the end for Leblanc.

No kidding, I feel my breath being punched out of me pre-emotively just by walking past the Bell Center.

Emelin is becoming an Avatar of Pain

Pre-emptively, not pre-emotionally. Stupid iPhone autocorrect, stupid board mobile interface that prevents me to edit posts.

The scary part is the comparison of both team's record...we only have 3 more wins, 1 less lost and one more OTL
This season has been ****!

I'd love to see AK get another hat-trick but if the past is anything to go by, it probably won't be against the Islanders. He only has one goal in his career against them, which was the least he had against any Eastern Conference team until the Thrashers moved to Winnipeg. He does have more career assists against the Isles than any team except for Boston though. Still, if he breaks the habit of not scoring against them tonight, that'd be great, another GWG would be useful right about now.

Another interesting AK Vs NY stat (at least I thought so), he has played the Isles and the Rags 18 times each. He has 11 career points against both teams. He has a career +9 record against the Isles and a career -9 record against the Rags. Those are his best and worst +/- stats against teams so far in his career.

Except for a few freaky teams either very good or very bad, most of the NHL are fighting tooth and nail this season. I like it, makes it exciting!!

Funny how much difference a decent power play would have made in the standings. Think of all those 1 goal losses, all those OT/SO losses, all those late goals we love to give up. Then, consider all the squandered power plays. Even 1 goal on the PP per game could have meant many more points for us.

If Kaberle can get the PP going at least a bit until Markov gets back, I predict we'll move up in the overall standings. Our PK has been our only saving grace thus far. I think if we maintain that and move up our PP to the top half of the league, we'll make the playoffs no problem.

I'm missing most of the game, so Leblanc, or Emelin will get their first.

MAGodin Marc Antoine Godin
2e vague: Pacioretty, Desharnais, Cole, Diaz & Campoli. Est-ce que ça confirme le retour au jeu de Campoli? À voir. Un D doit être retranché.

All to say that it looks like Emelin might be out tonight...

He hasn't looked bad since being called up, is developing, will move back down to the AHL once Gio comes back, and if injuries occur before the playoffs he could very well be our next Subban.

I actually used to be in the camp that thought he would be only a 3rd line winger. I'm actually quite surprised at how well he's played considering limited AHL time and not exactly the best years in junior.

I have to admit I'm starting to think people are right in their assessment of him being a top 6 winger. Seems he has good vision/hockey IQ and a good attitude. I know it's very early but I'm liking what I've seen so far. He's going to be imo at minimum a 3rd line winger, maybe more. Solid pick by TT given the position we chose.

Can't believe a guy who grew up right in the same area as I did ended up playing for the Habs. I don't mean Montreal but Kirkland rather.
His game is very intelligent, I feel like he could be very effective when he fills out a bit.

Your post still has a good chance of panning out though. When I post something here, the opposite tends to happen shortly after. I remember a few years back being asked for my opinion on O'Byrne and SKost in Hamilton. I thought neither of them were ready for the NHL. About 3-4 days later, both were in Montreal to spend the rest of the season there IIRC. So it might be a good time to put money on an AK46 hat-trick tonight
