On the other hand, (IGNORING the stupidity of Scratch Emelin), I like the idea of Campoli-Kaberle. One is an effective comfortable top-4, the other is a new quick mover D.

Not overly surprised at the decision, or the reaction in here. Emelin is a fan favourite but he had a few pretty bad giveaways last few games and hadn't been throwing the body quite as much. He was also out of position on the goal by Enrique last game.

Not worried though, good players get scratched all the time and he'll get his chance soon enough.

Not anywhere near the end of the world. And we get so see what Campoli can do.

Emelin a healthy scratch? Man I hate JM. Way to screw up one of the few bright spots so far this season.

What about this Martin quote?

MAGodin Marc Antoine Godin
Jacques Martin et la leçon à tirer des difficultés à domicile: "Il faut essayer de moins 'entertainer' nos partisans."

Martin says the team is trying too much to entertain the fans at home.

Basically he wants them to play a more boring but efficient style at home.

So with Campoli in, we're dressing a legitimate lineup and an experienced defensive corps.

A little more diluted than I hoped but not by much.

No excuses. Anything short of a comfortable win would be a disappointment.

Yes because Martin played him on the wrong side (and with Kaberle)

Hopefully Budaj starts and Kaberle-Campoli are -100. Martin is a God damn retard.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that teams are probably calling PG for a d-man. They know the Habs will have 9 healthy d-men once Markov is back.

If I was Snow calling and trying to get a guy like Weber for a 3rd or 4th would be a no brainer.

If I was Gauthier I wouldn't move him unless they offered a 1st, though with the Islanders a 2nd might be an early one and have good value...

Unless somebody overpays for Weber I would move Campoli, since he will be a UFA and I doubt he would be happy as #7 or 8.

I think he meant that they're trying too hard to entertain and forgot about the basics.

To be fair, that's like the first thing out of anyone's (player or coach) mouth when a team isn't playing well at home. "We're trying too hard to put on a show for our fans, we need to get back to basics and keep it simple, etc".

Him or even Diaz considering we got him basically for free. I wouldn't mind it being Campoli though cause Diaz will be a cheaper equivalent player. That having been said, would be happy with whoever netted us the best return. Would be sad to see Diaz go but at the end of the day he's definitely expendable.

Can we stop ranting about the Emelin/Campoli swap? There is already a thread about it.

So, do you think our PP will work okay tonight? Who's gonna be paired with Kabs? Subban or Campo?

Seriously. Does it matter how we win? Just win the game. Bore my brains out, but get the W at the end of it.

I would stop watching if we went full out 90's Lemaire New Jersey. So yes, it does matter. At the end of the day people watch hockey to be entertained. If all you care about is winning stick to sports devoid of entertainment like Baseball and Football.

If not mistaken, he said that after being asked about scratching Emelin. So basically, all Emelin provided was entertainment and that's why he was scratched?

I love Emelin's physical play (who doesn't) but I couldn't care less if it's him or diaz being scratched.

Who knows, we might witness a great offensive showdown tonight from our habs. PP improving, NHL caliber d squad.

Emelin has played the last 10 or 12 straight games so scratching him won't derail his season. I'm just wondering the real reason, JM said Monday they wanted to give Campoli 2 more practises then all of a sudden he changes his mind. that tells me maybe PG called or dropped in with a trade offer as long as Campoli is healthy. Campoli is the obvious "odd man out" with Kaberle coming in plus being an upcoming UFA. Would be crazy to trade Subban or one of the 3 rookies, they are all signed cheap and under control for 2 or more years. Plus they won't cause waves if they don't play top 4 or are not dressed every night.

Only 2 of our 7 defensemen might hit. No chance in hell the 5 others hit anyone altho I could also see Gill gently bump someone but unexpectedly refrain himself from utterly destroying his victim, as he always does.
