Thanks Coach Murray! You helped bring playoff hockey back to LA after a long absence. You taught our young players how to defend and comport themselves as NHL pros. I appreciated the stability after many years of chaos. Sad to see he couldn't wrap up win #500 as the team's coach, but I hope the Kings find a way to keep him as part of the org.
I feel bad for him and his family, sad to see he couldn't get 500 here. He made Kopi into the great 2-way center he is now, and JJ matured alot under him. He also got us back into the playoffs. I may of gotten extremely frustrated with him but he is a great guy and great D coach. Wish nothing but the best for him.
He turned them into the best defensive Kings team there has ever been. One reason we never have goalies at the top of the league is because our defense was so atrocious. He elevated our back end and goalies to where it is a strength and not a laughable weakness. Thanks TM for giving us a solid base to go forward with.
Thanks also, for the candid interviews. TM was always available and willing to give extensive interviews, more than any coach we've had in a long time. He obviously put a ton of time into this team.
^^^^ agree with this. The D is much improved, likely the best D I've EVER seen in L.A. TeMu brought this all together.
I really liked him as coach, wish the offense could have performed a bit better (make that a LOT better)... oh well - time for a change.
He's been thru this before - and he'll get picked up somewhere eventually. If not he'll enjoy retirement.
