It's filled with hipsters, but the Empress on Whyte and 99st have Brooklyn lager. Don't see it very often and its great.
Agreed. Brooklyn Lager is solid. Glad to see some place in Edmonton serving it. You could get some Brookyln beers at the SugarBowl back in the day. Not sure if they still serve it, as I haven't been in years.
I hope Sherbrooke has this one because I would love to try it. Triples are amazing, I drink a bottle of the Maredsous triple once a week or so. Unibroue has a nice holiday triple in their sampler pack right nowt oo.
I hope Sherbrooke has it as well.
And if it does, tell them my name ("cheesed-off"), and the first case will be on me !
so i just got my kegerator and i cant decide what to put in first...
Okanagan springs brewmasters black
Newcastle brown (different keg adapter)
Brewmasters for sure.
Oh man I wish I had a kererator. I'm trying to convince the girlfriend to let me turn the island in the kitchen into an area when I can install a tap and a kegerator underneath. I'm using the it's cheaper than renovating downstairs and installing a mini bar.

Newcastle is a good beer and is something most people would enjoy which not everyone likes dark beers. But that brewmasters is pretty damn good. I'm not sure which way to lean. Now you've gone and done it. I'll have to sit down tonight with a glass of each and get back to you on the winner.
as a celiac i think this thread should be locked and hidden so us with cantdrinkbeerabetes dont have to see it on the main page.
I just read a tweet from Sherbrooke the other day that they got some celiac friendly beer. You should go check it out, I can't recall what it's called.
Tried Innis & Gunn for the first time b/c of this thread. Wow, very nice. They sell this at Superstore liquor stores at $2.65 a bottle I think which is alot better than the $4 at Liquor Barn. As for some other favs for me - Sam Adams, Anchor Steam and Pumphouse Blueberry
Off topic, but has anyone been to the rocky mountain wine and food fest? I see tix are $18 and then I assume you have to buy more tix once inside to sample stuff. Seems abit pricey for what would seem like a glorified taste of edmonton. Or is it better than that?
Just bought some anchor steam and yes it is very good.

i have tried the 4 or 5 kinds available, and it is awesome to have beer again but for $14-18/6pack i'd rather just drink vodka lol, thanks though

Lets be serious, a 50L keg isn't a bad problem to have. However if you want to be responsible and conservative then by all means grab the Brewmasters you really can't go wrong either way.
Just picked up both of Sherbrookes/Alley Kats Coconut Curry Porter and the Mojo Apeel beer. Both are really solid. The Coconut Curry Porter probably doesn't taste like what you think it would taste like, it is really smooth and easy drinking.
The Mojo Apeel is a bit different but oh so flavorful. If you like bananas you'll love this beer, funny part is it doesn't even have banana in it.

more or less just worried about getting tired of the same beer....
true, but 50L is 100 pints, that a lot of the same... just sayin'
Sign me up, lol.
Anyhow of course that's a lot of beer and when you buy a keg you purchase it based on how many people are going to be drinking it. You don't purchase one as a novelty to yourself.
