It was weird being from Winnipeg, and not cheering the Jets for once.

I'm pretty sure I made everyone around me jump when Latendresse scored. I got pretty excited haha.

After sleeping off my anger, I'm not as worried about the loss as I am Butch getting hurt. My stomach instantly tied up into a knot when I saw him laying on the ice. Bogosian deserves to be suspended but my guess is that he won't be. Who knows though, the Shanahammer seems to have dusted off Campbell's "dartboard of suspension" and who knows what kind of outcome the situation will get.

Jets fan here. No it isn't PMB fault. Bogo hit him from behind. I don't believe he intended to cause damage, but that is too late now. I do suspect he'll be sitting for at least a game, probably 2.

it's a crap shoot. the only thing that would surprise me suspension-wise is if he got more than a game.
I don't think there will be any particular bid for revenge the next game or anything, but probably the first big hit thrown by a Jet will result in someone from the Wild flying off the handle.
It was a bad hit, with a worse result but the bright side is that it intensifies emotions between the clubs and I can't wait to see what that looks like if last nights game was any indication of how Wild/Jets games will play out in the long run.

Agreed that was a really good game last night. I'm sure they won't all be this spirited of games, but this could become a really exciting matchup for years to come.

At first I thought it was Heatley due to an announcer mentioning his name when the camera cut to Butch at a funny angle. Nasty hit, definitely worthy of a suspension. I hope Butch is okay.

I can't help but think, if the refs had called Glass's questionable hit on Zanon (which led to the Stoner/Glass fight) earlier in the game, Bogosian thinks twice before hitting Bouchard there.

I had that thought too. players get a feel throughout the game (or try to) for what the refs are letting slide.

Pretty intense game - pretty competitive from both sides of the puck, good chances for both sides, post shots, a fight, big hits, blood.

I thought the Wild battled pretty well, but they didn't have the legs last night. Winnipeg out-skated the Wild pretty handily.

Still, last year's Wild would have folded up shop and lost 5-0 (they did actually). But for an unfortunate clear by Stoner, I'm pretty sure the Wild would have gotten at least a point last night. They do a great job of hanging around.

The Jets throw another streak in the dumper, first Boston, now the Wild.

Crazy great atmosphere in that arena - it was like a playoff game given the noise and intensity of the fans. Spontaneous fan chants are the bomb. Hats off Winnipeg.

Looking at tonight's game, and next year's division, I think the Wild may have a case of "too much Kane."

Sad thing is if it was Heatley, the fans wouldve been cheering like crazy.

Thing I dont understand is why Winnipeg was booing Heatley......sure he snubbed Edmonton, but in Winnipeg we aren't Edmonton. Time to let it go.

We are starting to sound too much like Montreal.....which is NOT a good thing.

Hey Wild board!

Good game last night your team looked good out there but I'm happy we didn't give away any points .....Can't wait to be in the same "division" next year....I travel to Minny every year to catch a Vikings game (Skoal!) So now I have a great reason to come down a 2nd time per year to catch a Jets game! Love your city it's a cool place and we are always treated well while there! So do we fight over Fargo as territory? Or beg the other side to take them

Good luck the rest of the year!

Go Jets Go!

Heatley also screwed the Thrashers pretty hardcore, so I was assuming it had more to do with that, or just the fact that the Jets fans seem to pick one player to boo all night every game.

I don't see how comparing you guys to MTL is a bad thing at all. Habs fans are maybe the best in the league. Loud, proud, and undyingly supportive. Makes Centre Bell a tough arena to travel to, which is really all a team can ask from its fans.

Wouldn't Winnipeg fans be happy he did that?

But either way, I think it's hilarious that Dany Heatley, gold medal winner, is Canadian public enemy #1. Bet Heatley thinks it's funny too.

I think it's a mix of a couple of things:

1)Heatley snubbed two canadian small market cities - Wpg is a small market city.
2) We boo every other team's best players -the atmosphere is intense and crazy. I heard commentators say that's even more intense than the Bell Centre.

Ps. Good game last night Wild fans.

Honestly, they boo because Heatley is a top talent player on the Wild. We always try to throw someone off of their game whether it be Stamkos, Doan, Pronger, etc etc.

It's all in good fun and gets the crowd united for whatever else they feel like yelling about later in the game. More of an ongoing MTS Centre tradition thus far.

The point was Mickey giving the finger, not the actual text. I was just too lazy to edit it out.

The original post talked about "going in Minny", so I found Mickey disagreeing with it appropriate, if not expected.

So Yeo accused MTS Centre of pumping in crowd noise...

I want to say "this can not end well," but I can't think of a non-amusing way for this to end...

Because Pittsburgh does it...

Thought everyone knew that? When the moved into Console, there are fans that look around when there is noise and are like... "Who the **** is cheering?"

Some arenas have the crowds mic'd up and amplify the sound as well. The X used to do that with the seemless glass connectors. There were little microphones (high gain, i bet) on every fifth unit.

Those are gone now, though.

We need to start pumping in crowd noise, if only to educate our crowds that it is okay to be loud.

Im not really looking forward to listening to the crowd tonight get more excited for Chicago's fortunes than our own. Chicago and Detroit games we might as well just wear our away sweaters, since the X gets swarmed with away fans and the home fans are just too damn quiet.
