As far as Regier: Keep this up, and Pegula will be only too happy to punch his ticket out of town.

This really has to be killing Terry. Watching the team that he grew up with as a fan and buying the team, only to watch it all crash and burn halfway in his first full season as owner.
Just a point of fact. Terry didn't "grow up" a Sabres fan. He was in his mid 20s when he reportedly got Sabres fever.

Probably the same way they noticed him missing during his suspension -- Adam and Kassian struggled.

This is insane. I've been a fan for 21 years and I can't recall injuries ever being this bad early in the season.

Completely different team after the deadline when everyone is healthy.
You put the sarcasm thingy in there, but mark my words, at the trading deadline, this will be exactly what good ol' Darcy will do.

Basically, the coaching staff and Darcy will get a pass for this year due to all the "bad luck." Even though it's concealing the fact that the team is terribly constructed.

I agree. We should definitely trade for guys that don't get hurt. It's ridiculous.

Next summer, when we're in the FA market, I want ONLY players that have never been hurt, and promise not to get hurt. Like, super DOUBLE SECRET promise.

Yeah, file this injury in the "beyond ridiculous" file.

Somebody called it the Curse of Connolly. Sounds about right to me.

i do, i like watching all these call ups play their hearts out. of course you have dumb penalties and the ever annoying cerebral mishap baggage. it looks like they know the system pretty well, so i guess the ahl coach runs things the same way or close to it, but inevetably an adam is going to forget where to go or kassian will horse collar some punk d-men for daring to touch his puck.

i really miss myers and last seasons gerbe, but on the bright side look who they DO HAVE:

Miller
Enroth

so no excuses in the GT department. in fact they can feel free and go ahead and steal a win whenever they feel like it. it's okay to play lights out this time of year.

leopold
ehrhoff
regier
sekera

that's not the hest top 4 in the league but it should be good enough to win some nhl games.

vanek
pomminville
roy
stafford
gausted
mccormick

6 good vets with loads of talent and toughness.

and the rooks have rounded out the roster nicely.

This team should be winning all of these 1 goal games. when they dont its the vets pooping the bed at key moments, not so much the rookies. there is no excuse for that, this team has more than enough talent to go on a winning streak.

Spelling names of your own team's players incorrectly is mind numbing.

I put the sarcasm thingy in there because i didnt want anyone thinking im a blind fan who thinks injuries are the main issue with the team.

Seriously though, im sure we will get that answer.

This. Leino, Adam, and Kassian have been one of our best lines.

TBH, this is one of the worst things that could have happened to the team right now.

I'm going to respond to this since I hear a lot of people saying it. While it's possible that some of the injuries are related to strength and conditioning, it appears that most of them are not:

Hecht - concussion - not a conditioning issue
Myers - broken wrist - very unlikely to be a conditioning issue
Gerbe - concussion - resulted from nasty boarding penalty - not a conditioning issue
Gerbe - face sliced open by Gaustad's skate blade - not a conditioning issue
Weber - broken rib - very unlikely to be a conditioning issue
Miller - concussion - not a conditioning issue
Goose - unknown, but believed to be some sort of UBI sustained in a fight or scrum - unlikely conditioning related
Ennis - ankle sprain - conceivably could have been related to conditioning, but unlikely
McCormick - concussion - not conditioning related
Tropp - head injury - possible concussion??
Kaleta - ???
Leopold - ???
Regehr - ???

Agree - he may have helped Kassian & Adam but no more than they helped him show some life. I don't see his absence being nearly as problematic as those of Gerbe, Hecht, Myers or Kaleta are.

Hey, let's at least be grateful that the team's two best players this year - Vanek and Pominville - haven't been injured and their best defenseman - Regehr - has only missed one game.

The irony is that, had Connolly been around while all of this was going on, his injury woes would be lost in the big picture because the media wouldn't be only asking for updates on him.

Well at least there are 6 other "Leinos" in the lineup to replace him.
