It's my fault. I missed the game (a once in maybe 3 seasons occurrence) and was up til 4am watching the replay. My sleep schedule was compromised and I wasn't in 100% viewing condition. I take the blame.

I think he is fine as a 3rd pairing defenseman. He needs to work on his footspeed for sure, but playing 12-15 minutes he is fine. I think he would be a decent option as a #7 as his teammates seem to like him.

Eminger has looked more and more like a solid #5 with his recent aggressive streak he has shown. It's very nice to see as he isn't a small guy and he is a good skater. Good for Emi.

I like Eminger even better. I think Eminger is definitely a starter. 3rd pairing, yes, but a starter nonetheless. Although he doesn't look like the Rev which is a weakness in his game

Hmmmm...yeah I can see that too.

Idk alot of people don't see the Rev in Woywitka but that's just who he makes me think of whenever I see him. Maybe it's the hair

I don't mind if Erixon doesn't play.

Woywitka has played well the whole time he's been here. Can't scratch him because of one play.

Woywitka has played well enough in an extremely limited role--less than 11 minutes of ice tme a night on average. But, if there is someone in the organization who can play better, play more minutes and be part of the long term picture, I'm all for Woywitka sitting.

I hope Erixon gets a game or two in--Strålman seems to be getting his legs and playing more consistantly, so I don't think that pairing would be a disaster. Having another defenseman who has Tortorella's confidence to play 15 minutes a night would help keep the top 4 a little fresher.

Some more comments about Erixon

Quote:
"He’s smart,” Lundqvist said of Erixon, who played nine games with the Rangers at the start of the regular season before being sent down.

“That’s what stands out the most,” Lundqvist said. “I think it’s good when you’re under pressure that you have the ability to look up and make a play. It’s still a transition for him.”

Tortorella said Erixon may not play this time around, but that it still would be a valuable experience for a young player.

“It’s part of the process for a young kid,” Tortorella said. “I’m not sure how long he’ll be here ... but it’s a good thing for him because he knows he’s close.”

Henrik is looking for fresh meat in credit card roulette. Erixon will be paying for a meal sometime on this trip That Boyle and Prust can read braille. They know which card belongs to which player by touching the card.

Too funny!!!
I used to play junior hockey in Sweden (same club as Micke Nylander played on) and when we were taking bus rides around Sweden the games and the cheating would be out of this world. Poker and hockey players from Sweden have some kind of strange connection. My brother played with Mats Sundin and he loved poker already at a very early age. Now he works for an online poker site promoting them...

Torts says Tim Erixon will be returned to Connecticut (AHL) after trip, if there are no injuries. Organization wants him to keep playing.

Just up in case of injury for the trip since there's only 6 D on the roster.

Good experience just to travel with the team I suppose... bond a bit, get the feeling of how the timetable works on the road.

What the ****.

Yeah yeah it's great to have him with the team, but if he's not gonna play then this entire move was retarded, because playing actual hockey is more important then anything else.

Some like Bell should have been called up instead.

Why would they call up a 20 y/o just to sit and watch?

Strange considering Tortorella in the past has been adamant not doing such a thing.

You call up Bell if you just want a 7th D-man.

With a road trip through St. Louis and Phoenix, you need a 7th dman incase someone gets hurt in the morning skate or pre-game warmup. Also, sounds like the organization feels that Erixon can step in and be ok rather than Bell. Lastly, I think Bell has to clear waivers coming up while Erixon doesn't.

They should let Erixon play. How bad could he be? He was fine during his 9 early games, and right now he is motte adjusted to the small rink.

He can do as well as our bottom pair, maybe better. He won't harm the team. Let the boy play!

Get to practice with the big club, and its only for a couple of days. Dont see what the uproar is about, at all. In fact, its probably good for the kid.

Ugh, Rangers fan have such short memories. Look what happened to Del Zotto's development a couple years ago when he was thrown into the lineup too early - hes just recovering from that now.

Good to have him up with the team for the road trip, maybe get him a game if theres an injury, but theres no need to rush. I know people want Woywitka's head on a platter because of one turnover, but he hasnt done enough to lose his spot.

And finally, he was fine for a few of those games early in the season, but he was absolutely brutal in the last couple. They did the right thing sending him down.

If we lose tonight, Erixon plays the next game. Book it. Tortorella just doesnt want to say that because he's all about not looking past the game at hand. "one game at a time."
