Simmonds' "caustic" words for LA on HBO's 24/7

I didn't get to see the show last night but I read an article saying that Wimmonds had some choice words for his former team.

Anyone have further details on this?

He didn't say anything about the Kings, just that Philly is a better hockey city than LA and he's not unhappy that he was traded there. Nothing earth-shattering

And definitely nothing to start a thread about.

Tough!

Imagine if everyone started a thread based on something they may have missed out.

Seriously, a little common courtesy would be appreciated.

It does point out that really LA isn't the place you come to if you want a "hockey environment".

i saw it. when they asked him you could tell he was kind of stumped/thinking what to say. to me it seemed completely 'off the cuff'. you could tell he was thinking of how to say it, without sounding like a dick or offending the LA crowd.

sometimes the truth hurts, not like he isn't correct. Kings will always lag behind the Lakers and Dodgers. the day they win a boatload of SC's then they may overtake them, until then its the truth.

at first i was like...that dick....but hey....truth hurts sometimes. i got no issue with him

As stated, it was nothing. He wasn't saying anything negative about the Kings, only mentioned that Philly is a better hockey town than LA, which it is, and that he was happy that he ended up there, which there are far worse places he could have gone...

It will always be a side effect of the Kings. Players leave here and they are glad people at their new place care more about hockey, or a player gets traded here and they are glad they can hide away from the media and focus more on hockey... Pros and Cons, nothing to write home about, and something we know all too well.
