Line Nicknames ?

Every good team needs to have nicknames for its lines folks...and so should the Rangers!

So, have a go at it! Any suggestions?

We have RUCHinsky, RUCHin, and pRUCHa...so how about the NOT-SO-RUCH line ?

I know ,thats horrible...so you try it!

You spelled 2 of the 3 names wrong. But goin with you're idea, you could base it on the pronunciation and call it the "Rue" line. Though I don't think that's actually a cool name. How about Ruca-ruca-prucha?

How 'bout...

we wait until they actually play together for two games, then give it a name...

That's my cop-out because I'm not creative enough to think of one.

I've heard PbP guys pronounce it PruHa, and it can also possibly be a gutteral ch, kind of like trying to cough up phlegm- this sound isn't part of the english language.

My Czech friend pronounces his name with a sort of gutteral sounding -ch. Like a -ch in well-spoken German.

Yeah, thats how i pronounce it too. I speak some Hebrew and there is that ch sound (such as int hw word Chanukah, whereas the the Americanized version is Hanukah due to the lack of available sound in English) so i just assumed thats how Prucha would be sounded out.

Prucha is pronounced PROO-ka, and they call Rucinsky "Rosie." The nly lines thst get names are the ones that are really good. I.E. FLY line, Czechmates, French Connection, Grind line, we don't have any lines that have garnered much attention around the League.

I don't know about Ranger lines, but I had the coolest trio ever in NHL2k5. It was Tuomo Ruutu, Mike Ricci, and Jordin Tootoo. Ruutu-Ricci-Tootoo, it was so awesome hearing the play-by-play

Not to mention a great energy/checking third line.

teams will "rue" the day they don't take the Rangers seriously.

There should be a law stating that lines cannot be given names until they play a full two seasons together.

laws are meant to be broken...who cares how long they've played? if they are good together, keep them!

however, I did like the lineup today with jagr, straka, ruchinsky together.

No it isn't. As said above, and earlier by an actual native speaker, it is a guttural sound, very similar to the Hebrew "ch." PROO-"ka" and PROO-"ha" are attempts at anglicizing the name.

If they ever become a consistent line I gotta say, that's pretty genius.
