I dont understand you sometimes, Wilson is a 1st line player. Tootoo isnt. Yes Tootoo is scoring lately but hes not going to keep up all the offense during the whole year. He doesnt have the creativity. Wilson should be with Smith and Legwand. You wont change my mind.
Your line choice was our 2nd line at the beginning of the season. We have balanced scoring right now and it's working. The Wilson/Legwand/Smith line worked for a few games early then cooled. Right now we're able to get more favorable matchups with the Wilson/Toots line which is enabling both of them to generate chances. The Smith/Legwand/Erat line is generating chances. As much as Toots is pretty much a 3rd liner for most teams ... he's getting the job done at ES over the past month. Halischuk came into this game tied with Zetterburg at 6 goals scored ... all ES.
And that's another for Toots .. on a line with Smith and Halischuk as things get changed around during a game.
Glad we got one there. 2 terrible penalty calls and they score on both, against Bouillon & Klein I believe both times.
Hillen was on the ice for their first PP goal (he knocked the puck down in front of the net). Klein/Bouillon was out for the 2nd PP goal allowed .. all four defenders on one side of the ice, goal scored from the other. Suter/Weber out their for their ES goal scored.
Klein/Bouillon on the ice for both of our goals scored.
Erat with a couple of good puck possession/acquisition shifts that didn't pay off in the 2nd (instrumental on the 1st goal though). Smith will a hell of a forecheck, rotates off and Spaling continues the effort, Toots comes out and gets the puck through a deflection and in.
SK needs to try shooting the puck once and a while. He's got one of the highest shooting % on the team but one of the lowest shot totals.
The Suter call was a textbook hook. Stick parallel to the ice with the blade under attempted murderer's ... uh, Bertuzzi's .. arm. The Smither's call was weak but he got the stick up. Cleary only getting whistled for incidental contact with Rinne and not interference was a missed call, but expected against the Wings.
Hornqvist doesn't really fit our style of play currently. He needs two good puck possession linemates creating chances for him (or vice versa), and puck possession is one of our greatest weaknesses this year.
