I call it lucky...Or he would be doing it every shot heh (same with Lids...I've seen him do it too). BUt as they say, you need skill to be lucky. So, kudos.

If a Crosby, Selanne, or Datsyuk score that goal it's that scorer's knack for getting off the bench and going to the right place to fire the puck home. We do it and it's a magical fluke. Wings fans so generous with their backhanded compliments.

I just said that when Lids does it...he's lucky. Why the heck doesn't he do it every shot when he has an open lane? I'll tell you. Because they can't do it everyshot! Or if they can...it's almost too risky to even try in a game. It will probably turn into a turn over more often than not.

YOu have to have skill to do that, but if they can do that why not do it every time? It beats goalie 95% of the time.

You posted as I was posting. I can agree with the sentiment of these last two posts.

With that said, I really hate how Crispy and Weber constantly compare everything the Predators do to what the Wings do during a Preds-Wings game. I guess they got into the habit of it early on. It's annoying. This team is its own team now. No need in comparing them to the Wings anymore. It comes across as little brother syndrome.
Of all the statements you made agreed or disagreed this I agree with the most. It's ok to respect and that goes without saying but we learn more about them they we do us during the call of the game. I don't want them to be homers at all but they are bordering on being too aloof. Terry does a good post game show but not during the game. I see no insight and game strategy by Terry or Pete. Don't get wrong there are worse and I've heard worse. I always feel like that they are talking to us like we are children.

Considering most teams only score somewhere between 2.5-3 goals per game on something between 25-30 shots wouldn't every goal have to be fluky if the gauge for "fluky" is it only happens every now and then?

It doesn't really matter. The Preds won a game in which they were outplayed pretty much across the board. It happens.

It's time to enjoy the evening. Finals are done. After work tomorrow I have absolutely no responsibilities until Monday for the first time in a while. Saturday night will probably involve alcohol and guns (not in that order... maybe). The Preds beat the Wings. All is well in my world right now

We know all too well about fluky bounces. Lidstrom against us in the playoffs a few years ago. Shot from the Red line after faceoff and it did the exact same loopy bounce on us and in. This was in the playoffs, that hurt.

Our non-scoring team is now tied for 12th in goals per game ... 2nd in PP%. Our 5on5 scoring continues to trend towards even.

The PK took a hit tonight though.

I'll take it. Toots with five goals now ... all in the past month ... 4 at ES.
Toots is the spark plug and the heart and soul of the team. His biggest assest is he shoots the puck. He creates opportunities. I would love a Smith/Wilson/Toots line right now.

Let's not be rude to fans of opposing teams. You are free to disagree, but let's be civil about it.

Also, if you are a fan of another team you have to keep in mind that you may not like some of the things said around here. It doesn't mean you aren't welcome.

Dynheart, you just have to keep in mind that our fan base has taken a lot of crap from fans of other teams, and Wings fans have been right in the mix for a while now. Especially since games between the two clubs have become rather competitive, and after a couple of first round exits at the hands of the Wings.

You're free to talk hockey here. I just ask that everyone keep the personal stuff out of the posts. If you're talking about the poster and not the post you need to stop yourself, delete what you wrote, and try again. That goes for everyone.

Thanks. But I'm getting the feeling I'm not welcomed. So I'l take my leave. Thanks for being nice, though. One of the few board mods that actually let me chat it up win or lose after a game.

Really, I just love hockey; not just the Wings.

Can't agree more. That line was invisible. SK doesn't skate or work hard. And Fisher just doesn't have the creativity to generate offense. I'd be happy if every time they entered the zone, they dumped it in, had Hornqvist go to the net, let one of Fisher or SK retrieve it and pass it back to the D for a shot with a Hornqvist screen.

It would generate a whole lot more offense than skating in, making some half-assed pass and then turn it over.

back on track, I thought that was an entertaining game even if we were on the receiving end of a beat down for most of it. For a while it got pretty chippy. I was hoping it would continue.

BTW, who was it that nailed Smith? Stuart?

That was amazing. Best come-from-behind win of the year...we were due for something like that at home and we finally got it!

Let's not delude ourselves though...we got thoroughly outplayed for 99% of the game and didn't deserve to win at all. It was straight-up highway robbery. But I'll take it.

All hail captain SheaShea!

Oh, and dishonorable mention to Erat and Kostitsyn. Two softest marshmallows on our team. Kostitsyn = the new Dumont. Only hustles when he feels like it and avoids battles along the boards like the plague. Gross.

Great win though. On to the Blues!

Wow, that was a fun game!

Kudos to the RW fans near me, they were not a bunch of UAW ********** like usual. Good natured banter, and all that.

The heavy dump and forecheck in the 3rd period was extremely effective I thought (well, compared to the 2nd, where we looked lost and stymied offensively). We seemed to be successful pressuring their defenders and outlet passes for good portions of the period. Curious if this was a set plan all game, or mid-game adjustment?

here to take credit for utilizing multiple mojo's today and tonight...

put on the lucky hoodie(seems to be this years charmed preds garment after being cursed last year) as soon as I got out of be this AM, and put it on again as soon as I got home...

bet against the preds in vBookie(works here and worked with real money in vegas before too... money well spent)

turned off the game after first Wings goal, didnt turn back on until tied (following score on phone)

ordered 101st to Tilt, Pour, Consume, Repeat at the start of the third, and to keep drinking after we tied it...

you're welcome

That is ridiculous. SK needs to find his game or get off that line, he's bringing the whole team down eating up those minutes and doing absolutely nothing with them.
