That leaves an arm and a healthy set of teeth. More than enough for the Sutter Puppet to work with.

All the other elite teams of the conference have had ups and downs, but just about every one of them respond with a decent size win streak and get right back up with the top of the pack. It is up to the Kings themselves to show that they have what it really takes. We are going to need to get a good number of wins here in these middle months to get us back into contention. We were given the easy part of our schedule first, the last part of our schedule is pretty grueling with mostly road games. We have shown in the past to be a decent road team, but it would make it a lot easier on ourselves to get this ship righted as soon as possible.

Does anyone think Sutter (or whoever is going to be the next coach) will change up the captains?

I didn't watch the game, but 41 shots and only 2 goals against the worst team in the league is pathetic.

I don't think he would this season, but you never know before next season.

What was up with Doughty's helmet tonight? That thing fell off 3 times.

Yeah, and early on in the game, I was beginning to think they were actually looking for a good shot instead of shots for the hell of it. There were still too many floaters from the boards for my liking.

Just finished watching the replay. We're not out of the woods yet, and we're still seeing the same issues with offense, but it was good to get the win. We have the shots, now it's time to figure out how to turn shots into chances and chances into goals.

It is the same no matter who the team plays or the standings. We as fans like to complain more than praise.

Also I think the same players for both teams were on the ice for all 3 goals.

The shots all seem sort of pointless since the forwards still treat the front of the net like a minefield.

Yeah, but we scored both goals from so-so shots. I mean, they were not super quality chances, especially the first one. Even with second one, without deflection, it would have been registered as "a bad shot, why are we shooting so much if it's that easy for goalie to get it?"

Some of us were beaten down hard enough to not watch the game. Going to take a tepid wait and see approach over the next five or so games and not dive in head first. Don't know what's going to happen here.

It's a sad day when I can't tell if you're talking about us or the Jackets.

if the Kings beat DET on Sat, I'm sure there will be more enthusiasm. But scoring 2 goals and inching out a win against Columbus hardly inspires anyone to overflow in praise.

Couple that with the 41 from last game (and zero goals then) and you really have a problem.

That's what I call having a S*it Mentality.

There are guys on this team that need to sit/a change of scenery.

Yup. Who are going to be the lucky winners??? I'm sure Stoll, Williams, Drewiske or Martinez are frontrunners.

If DL was ballsy he'd move Voynov, Johnson or Dustin Brown or a combination of all mentioned above.

Keep Willams, he's trying to create something out there every shift, works his ass off. Johnson is exactly the type of guy we should keep also. Now Brown on the other hand, if there's a good deal out there I'd pull the trigger.

I will say this. I don't think anyone was more excited about this win than Drew Doughty. That guy was jumping around after the horn.

The Detroit game scares the **** out of me. That could truly be where the wheels come completely off and the team needs to be blown up. I'll watch but I'll do it like William Shatner or John Lithgow in the Twilight Zone episode where there's a monster on the wing. I won't want to lift up the shade to see the damage but I'll eventually have to. Then I'll snap and run amuck.

I think it's gonna be Stoll and Johnson first to go. Stoll just isn't needed anymore, his contract is easy to move and he's just not a good hockey player anymore. He certainly will not mesh well with Sutter and either will Johnson. We've waited for years for Johnson to round out his game-it aint happening. With Martinez and Voynov Johnson is an expendable asset (Predator reference).
