Mitchell has to be the odd one out. Not because of his play, but more likely because it's a seniority thing.

ack not sure, Mitchell is playing while Avery is sitting.........pretty sure no one would take either on waivers actually

Next yr Avery is a goner while Mitchell may very well be playing himself into another contract. He is the perfect spare body really.

Seniority probably has nothing to do with it. As long as Mitchell continues to do his job I think he'll be around. Avery will go down.

so good news is EC is pretty much guaranteed to hit the bench if Rupp plays Saturday

What the heck are the lines going to look like and who the heck is gong down

correct me if I am wrong when on the IR is that players contract not on the cap? If so then Rupp being activated necessitates a move?

Was Erixon called up on a Emergency basis given the Sauer IR ? I assume Wolski is not on the cap right now either?

Regarding EC, it depends on what Tortorella wants to do with Dubinsky. If he wants to give him a legitimate chance to break out of this funk, it would involve moving him up to the Richards line. That would leave us with 3 centers, and EC would likely still have his spot.

Or, Dubinsky can continue to operate in purgatory centering a couple of stone-hands. Either option would be understandable, as Dubinsky has not played well.

I think Mitchell is playing over his head actually, I would do the below but Torts wont of course

Anisimov, Stepan, Gaborik
Dubinsky, Richards, Callahan
Hagelin, Boyle, Fedotenko
Rupp, Mitchell, Prust
EC sits.......Avery in big trouble to be waived.......Wolski back soon but no idea where he goes either

Thats OK, but can Mitchell even play center at the NHL level?

I think its more likely he sits and EC plays in the 4C spot.

Rangers sure looked small against the Stars and the Blues.

Stars defense has really nice size to it with Souray, Fristic, Grossman and Benn up front....

Blues are a huge team with skill.

Cally looked like a pinball yesterday...as much as I love him...him hitting 6'2 220 pounds is not that effective.

I would sure love to have a Backes, Berglund or Stewart on my team.

We need skilled big men if we want to compete and I am not talking about adding Rupp to the lineup....Thomas, WW, Bourque, MZA have to be used to entice some team to trade some sort of skilled big boy to us.

My guess is:

Wolski. Richards. Callahan
Anisimov. Stepan. Gaborik
Hagelin. Dubinsky. Fedotenko
Rupp/Mitchell. Boyle. Prust

Christensen and Avery on waivers.

Have to add some speed to the lineup, though.

I'm really looking forward to Rupp coming back. We haven't seen yet what he can add in terms of size and physical play because of this injury. Hopefully he'll chip in a little too. He's got the ability.

so with Erixon down that makes room for Rupp to be activated without waiving anyone

hopefully Sauer is close to coming back............also maybe Avery is kept and when Wolski gone EC is moved
