Volunteering at All star weekend

I signed up on the sens website to get updates on tickets to the all star weekend, and I received a call from the ticket-reps offering to sell me season tickets, and he said that people who purchased some sort of season tickets (full, half, etc) would qualify to purchase the all star weekend tickets first, followed by the general public, if any remain.

Considering that I'm a student, and only go to a handful of games each season, season tickets aren't an option. So, I was thinking that maybe I could volunteer at SBP, and get to enjoy everything for free (while obviously working or doing whatever i'm supposed to do).

Does anyone know when they start searching for volunteers, or how to apply?? I was thinking of posting something similar on the MTL and carolina boards, to ask since they just recently had the all star game..

Thx

Back in the spring when there was the STH fan forums basically someone had asked about volunteering at the all star game.

Cyril Leeder had basically said that they'll open up the volunteer positions for the weekend to STH first more than likely.

Havent heard anything since but that was the thought in the spring

I had to go to a get a criminal check for a job. Which was weird being the job was a buyer position...but whatever. Any ways, whilst I was there, an old lady was getting a criminal back ground check done. She needed it for to apply to work at the all star game. She told me she used to e season tickets holders and her son now owns the seats. i think you are s.o.l. sorry.

this was in October btw.

Contact the city as any event that takes place in Ottawa they're involved with and will probably be able to tell you how the volunteer process is going to work for the event. But you'll probably require a criminals record check anyways it's free if you get a letter from the city saying you're going to be volunteering though.

I applied on their website. They are looking for people at the Sens Store right now. Not sure about concession, 50/50, etc.

Got phoned for an interview tuesday or wednesday for Sens Store during the break. Sent my resume in a day prior, looks like they are looking for a lot of people.

The word around the Sens Store at the moment is that they're about to start mass-hiring. The e-mails being sent around to the shops mention that we want 80 new employees for the all-star game. Start bringing resume's into Sens Store locations, but be specific and mention that you want to work the All-Star game. If you're specific, I guarantee (Alfie guarantee) you a job for the All-Star weekend.
