Think kinda like Pronger trade without that much of a salary dump.

Schenn + two 1st I think

Me thinks they'd want someone proven, more proven then Schenn. I'd say...

JvR + 1st + maybe something else.

It would have to be one of Couturier or Schenn and multiple picks plus probably someone like Gus or MAB and probably (maybe) another roster player. Not sure if I would do it or not.

Salary would have to go to get Weber.... Suter is more manageable.

JVR + 1st for Weber.

So... Schenn, Bob, JVR and two firsts? I doubt the Flyers do that. I cant remember I team in the past few years that gave up as much especially for an UFA (Suter). Weber, I'd rather wait till FA's then since if you give him an offer its not even close to the amount you would be giving up.

Getting these two will take alot and I dont think at the moment it is worth it.

No not necessarily give up all of that but a variation thereof....

Bob has zero value to Nashville. Another team, maybe, but not Nashville.

Couturier is not going anywhere.

I say his upside (after Giroux) is the highest among any of the youth of the Flyers.

Couturier has that "hockey sense" that is not taught. He has amazing defensive ability and can be the next Primeau of the team. With Giroux out, I see Jagr taking Couturier under his wing as well and teaching him a few things about offense and positioning. He's a big body and he's only 19 (just turned it recently). If he adds some muscle to his frame, he will become an unstoppable two-way player and seems primed to be the next Jordan Staal with possibly better offense.

I think the Flyers should keep him and let him develop. Lavy has a lot of faith on him and trusts him enough to put him out there on the first line in Giroux' absence and puts him out there in key situations and penalty killing situations.

If there is one player who could be given up is JVR. He has tremendous upside but he hasn't been near being one of the team's keys to success this year.

Heck Talbot, Voracek and Simmonds have all outplayed JVR.

They should look into getting one of them, but with restraint.

For Suter, I'd offer up high picks and some of our lesser prospects. UFAs traded dont generally get a big return at the deadline (see Kovy, Hossa, etc). I would not give up a significant player for him, they could look to sign him as a UFA if thats what Nash wants.

For Weber, I would think Schenn + 1st would be a reasonable starting point (adding maybe '13 1st, and someone like gust). Schenn isnt as experienced as say JVR, but he is still a highly regarded prospect...and one who hasnt found his place on the Flyers yet...making him expendable.

Either of these guys would be a great fit on the Flyers now and moving forward...but they don't need to dismantle their team to get them. If Nash wants too much...I would bring in guys who could fill in this year and then go after Suter in the off-season.

Can work a multiple team deal...that's why all those pieces could be in play

I'd look at moving Carle aswell. Schenn, Bobrovsky and Carle should all have value. Pronger and Carle's deals free up abou $8.3m Weber is at 7 leaves you with 1.3 to bring in another cheaper veteran D and sorts out the core of our blueline for a few more years. We'd just have to replace Timonen when he goes.

Reckon you'd have to deal Schenn in a deal but Nashville are gonna need an established but cheaper D so Carle might make a bit more sense... Our offense has been fine without Schenn so far and if we traded Bob we could get a cheap backup for a lower pick or something we'd be sorted (could even save some cap there).

I'm not saying the Flyers will or should trade them, but I bet if trade talks are going on that Schenn or Couturier will be the first thing talked about.

Just wait it out. Do nothing major until the trade deadline at least.

No reason to make a panic move and give up the assets that you acculmulated this summer.

Why give up Bob for the sake of it unless you are getting a quality back-up in return? If Bryz plays more then 60-65 games he will suck in the playoffs ala with Pheonix.

Nashville currently has Rinne locked up long term and Anders Lindback, who is no slouch (pun intended ) either. If Bob goes, then i"d imagine Lindback comes our way, but that is a lateral move, and seems silly.

I imagine if we wanted Suter or Weber, we are looking at one of Schenn or JVR + 1st + Carle/Coburn/Meszaros.

Which I am not entirely opposed to, but if they acquire a big name defender, I'd prefer to keep who we have on the back end as well at the least until we know more about Prongers future. Perhaps ship a d-man out in the off season. We can't really afford to lose any of Timmo, Couburn, Mesz, Carle until seasons end if we plan to make a serious run for the Cup.

It's not really a panic move. The captain and #1 defenseman is out for the year. If they made a move for a center because G is out indefinitely, that is a panic move. But they know they need a defenseman.

If were giving up one of JVR/Schenn/Couturier then I want Weber. I'd give up 2 first rounders+ for Suter though.

It's for the sake of salary and the cap..that is why. Might have no choice..he's unfortunately an expensive backup and a bit of luxury which I wish we could keep but looks like we may not be able too. Trust me I don't want to move him and it will probably bite us in the butt down the road.

As far as the last time there was a multiple team deal..not sure but won't rule out the possibility that is all. When was the last time there wasn't a multiple team deal at the deadline in the NHL?

3-way deals are quite the rarity. This isn't the NBA.

In the end though, you dont overpay when you team is CURRENTLY doing well. Obviously we could easily go on a losing streak within the next couple games, but even then I'd wait it out alittle more.

Worst comes to worse, you grab a guy like Gleason, or Beauchemin who you dont have to give up the moon for, but they both can play solid defense and some big minutes.

It may be a rarity but not an impossibility..you know like the trade that went down this summer.

All I'm saying is that we can't predict the needs of multiple teams come the deadline and how a multiple team deal can facilitate. That's all

I think we should honestly give up the idea of trading for Suter or Weber. I really doubt it happens. IMO
The price given our situation would be pretty high. I dont want to give up draft picks in this coming draft. especially high ones
