Trade Proposal from Boston

Would you guys consider a deal that centered around:

Nick Boynton for Jason Arnott?

Boston would probably throw in a forward, some good prospects/picks and maybe Dallas sends Robidas or Daley the other way?

1) why ?

i haven't heard much crying for trading after a dman from starsfans (except ott=snott here) because we've a good top6, so why should we make a big trade because Boucher's out fo 2-3 weeks ???

look the situation when he comes back.....
bench the new guy ? lol
bench Zubov ? no
bench Boucher ? no
bench Klemm ? no
bench Daley ? no
bench Robidas ? no
bench Skoula ? maybe
playing again with those 7 dmen ? NO

so then we'd have skoula as #7 and Erskine as #8 on the roster with one-way contracts...thats horrible

if Erskine show's again he isn't able to play an average game this time, we should give Traverse and Jancevski a chance....and if even those two aren't to make a few average game then......well....then is Boucher back

2) no, i won't think about this propospal as long as the forward isn't Bergeron or Sturm (so i think it's clear )

lol I saw on the Rumour board that "Stars thin on D" so I took a stab.

Getting Bergeron would require massive overpayment...and probably would never happen.

You heavily overrate our defense..

Only Zubov and Boucher are legit top four defenseman. Jon Klemm is argueble, I like him a lot so I give him the benefit of the doubt. Skoula is a huge liability and leads our defensemen in turnovers. I wouldn't mind him being a healthy scratch every night. Robidas is amazing, but he's limited, benching him would be unfair, but anything more than a #4/#5 he isn't. Daley has been really good for us, but he's awfully young, not experienced and not much of an intimidating force..

We need another top four defenseman, whether you like to admit that or not. It's been going fine so far and I would hate it if it takes us a really bad stretch to find this out.

I'm not talking about a temporarely filler for Boucher, just in general. A Witt would really help us big time..

Sergei Zubov - Jon Klemm
Robidas/Skoula - Philippe Boucher
Brendan Witt - Trevor Daley

Erskine to Iowa.

Ridiculous when you can get Witt for a pick/prospect

I'd say another defenseman is top priority for the Stars. If they can't find a top 4, then at least a #5.

I'm quite happy with Daley's play so far this season. In fact, I'm elated. He's regularly logged #3 minutes and with Boucher gone he's stepped into the #2 spot. His PK'ing is great, and he actual seems to help the offense too.

To me, that means we have a "decent" top 4... we may be able to get by with it.

Skoula hasn't really been bad, though, to be perfectly honest. Neither has Robidas. It's still a thin overall 'D', though.

I say we just go for the best we can get, however.

I *also* wouldn't mind seeing another scoring wing or at least an additional two-way forward. Somewhat of a puck-handler/space creator type.

Some of this depends on December, though. If we finish December looking like a solid playoff team, then my desire to do these trades increases. If we don't, I'd rather not. That may seem counterintuitive, but if we have no legitimate shot at the Cup I'd rather see youngsters take the ice time.
