I think this is being blown way out of proportion. Nothing here IMO lol. Always nice to have drama I guess.

Well my conclusion is that basically Martin has been breaking everyone's ears with his "system" for 30 months now, and the players still aren't playing it... I think it shows the players just won't do it for him, wether it would be good or not.

Maybe he did mean he was surprised, it's happened to me that I said something compromising, but not because I meant it... it was simply a brain fart.

LOL

"Huh, oh sorry. Yeah yeah, I was surprised, I was surprised..."

That's damn hilarious. I would love to see the journalist's face when hearing that.

Eller said what he said because he knows that some players on the Habs quit playing for Martin and started playing for themselves and Eller knew something had to change. Unfortunately, PG made the wrong decision and fired the best coach the Habs had since Jacques Demers.

I just think he wasn't surprised due to how the team is playing, not necessarily because he felt JM was at fault. Though that could be the case it seemed innocent enough.

Don't you know that players coming from Finland, Sweden & Denmark are fluent in English more often than not?

Sure, I do! I've met plenty of Scandanavians throughout my years, mostly musicians and they all spoke gret English - I guess I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt from the get go, hehe.

I think Eller was prepared to answer "did you expext him to get fired"? Perhaps that's what the journalist before this one said. Eller immidiately says "expect" when he begins answering after he realizes his blooper, and from his reaction it actually looks like he just misunderstood the question. I actually think he is way to politically correct to say this unless it's a mistake.

I think previous guy asked something along the lines of 'Did you expect the firing' so when it was suggested that the same question was being asked again but he got 'Were you surprised by the firing' he accidentally started answering the 'Did you expect' question.
