The hit looked pretty awful...I cringed when they showed the slow motion replay. Hopefully it's just needed to be popped back in and he's day-to-day, but I guess it doesn't sound like that with the sling and all.

As I said in the PGT...acquire a defenseman, Sather. Timmy Gleason could be available.

Hopefully Erixon steps up. But rangers need another guy who can eat minutes. Torts doesn't trust Woywitka.
It was a 4 man rotation tonight.

Surprisingly, Eminger has been solid this year.
Another loss to the defense. Erixon will probably get the call depending on the injury.

Torts on Steve Eminger's injury: "He's out...he's hurt"...wouldn't say more about shoulder injury until conferring with trainers

I am sure they will try. I still say Wolski for a vet high priced rental makes sense............get Rozsival back, I kid I kid
So Erixon is back for sure.........I would send Mitchell down if they need it to work on the cap

How about Wolski for Rosie? Reversing that trade would be great for us now, but I don't see the Dogs doing it.

I guess it's now Erixon's time to shine or it's time to finally make a trade.

Erixon will get a chance to play, a trade will be made if needed.
Plenty of assets, I'm not worried.

So in a matter of 2 months we went from:
Staal - Girardi
Sauer - McDonagh
MDZ - Erixon
Now to:
Girardi - McDonagh
MDZ - Stralman
Woywitka - Erixon
I'm not really worried per se but out defense has really been hit quite hard by the injury bug.

Time to explore the market I think. 2 waiver wire pickups (though strong most of the time) and a rookie aren't going to cut it on the bottom half of our D.
I will say, though I've never been a fan of Torts, or Sullivan too especially, they should be commended for what they're getting out of the D so far this young season.
DZ - Girardi
McD - Stralman
Erixon - Woy
????
Hurry back Staal, Sauer, and Eminger...or welcome to the Big Apple Alec Martinez

What bothers me the most is that 4 officials don't see the high stick on Fedotenko. We would have been on a 4min. powerplay and it would never have happened.

I'll be very relieved once Staal comes back, which is hopefully soon. I'm not going into panic mode, at least it wasn't Girardi or McD. Let's just hope they both heal quickly (Sauer as well), but in the mean time it will be interesting to see how Erixon does. I'm kind of excited to see him get some minutes to prove himself, although I hoped it wouldn't be under these circumstances...nonetheless, now is his chance to prove his time in Connecticut is over.

This, my friends, is why organizational depth is so necessary. Three regular defensemen now down. Next man up.
