Ott/NYR proposal

To Ottawa:
Marcel Hossa

To NYR:
Varada
3rd Rounder

Why... New york needs an agitator, and Ottawa needs another Hossa to make up for the old one.

Rangers fans- we have enough grinders, we need more scorers.

Ottawa fans- Marcel may be worth a 3rd round pick or Varada... but not both. I doubt very much that he'd help any more than Bochenski or Eaves right now.

I can't think of anything that Ottawa needs right now.

Good 5th Defender

Replacing Pothier won't upset chemistry that much...

agreed, i do not know why Ottawa needs a lesser talent than what they have to fill a role that is only til seasons end. If Ottawa is trading for anyone it is for someone close enough to Havlats level, not someone to fill a roster spot.

Meszaros is the number 5. We need a number 6 such as Witt.

We also need a Left Winger, and Marcel Hossa has a lot of potential, on the sens he would fit in greatly with the fast pace and great playmaking. A lot of players are underacheiving on other teams just because they do not fit in, I see Hossa as one of these men. He would be a good compliment that the fourth life with Kelly and Mcgratton adding a scoring touch while at the same time developing his game. He could also run the the third line as well. I don't know if its just me, but I see a lot of potentional in this guy, he was firing at the start of the season and now is somewhat settling down, but I would surely make a pitch for him.

I dont see where he fits on the roster
LW: heatley, schaeffer, varada, mcgratton
RW: alfie, bochenski, neil, vermette

you are basically taking varada out and putting Hossa in is at BEST, lateral, but Varada will be needed alot more come playoff time then Hossa.

Hossa could be had for almost nothing... I think it's safe to say he will always be known as "the other Hossa"

Rangers picked up young Orr for much cheaper. Orr is younger and better Varada is laughable.

Take out Varada and I'd make it.

I know Mez is #5 on our team, I mean we need a number 5 to play number 6. I don't want a crappy defender.

I don't think Hossa could run a line. Quite the contrary, he needs his line to be run by the 2 other forwards to be somewhat effective.
Kelly and McGratton are not a good fit for him IMO. He would look lost out there, as neither can carry the puck "to his needs".

But an additional 3rd for the Rangers would be nice!

Orr is the better fighter. But Varada's better in every other aspect of the game.

That's exactly what the Rangers where thinking when they got him from Montreal.
