A sideways deal... but I'm awaiting the trade of Arnason now.

I couldn't stand Ellison and glad he's gone.

Arny can go too. He's the opposite of what early 90's Blackhawk hockey was about.

as a flyers fan, i can say that sharp will be a nice pick up for you guys, he's a good 2-way player, and can play both center and wing, and is also capable of playing on the PP and PK, good luck with him!

He's a career 3rd/4th liner.

No offence, all effort... basically a piece of crap.

Minor deal. I like it, though.

Ellison is a good all around hockey player. He works hard and always seem to be in the right place at the right time. He is a decent passer and set up guy.
He absolutely has hands of stones and cant finish for the life of him. He will frustrate you severly as he seems to get in position to score, but he doesnt have the skills to sinish it off.

Chicago fans were frustrated with him somewhat, no fault of his own, but he was a pet of Yawneys who coached him at Norfolk. He was playing him way too much. Especially on the point on the PP where he had no business. He didnt even belong on the PP as a forward. But he is fine as a role playing forward. For a young player his overall game is very advanced. He needs to put on more weight, as he is pushed off the puck very easy.

Everyone is reading too much into this trade. Sharp cant play the wing, Clarke wanted a winger. Sharps the more talented of the two so we threw in a pick. The minor leaguer was throown in to even up the salaries. A pretty minor move for both sides IMO.

Few more questions. Is he any good on PK, Flyers really need PK type player, how about his skating?

I think this is a good deal too.

However, Sharp wears a visor, Ellison doesn't.

This brings up the visor-percentage in the team (Hawks) that has the highest non-visor-percentage in the NHL! That's not good!

His skating is average at best. He works his *** off and will fight for the puck in the corners, and has tremendous hockey sense. He's like a small Mike Grier: willing to bust his *** off to create a scoring chance, make a solid play to deke the goalie, and somehow ends up hitting a post. Sharp is the same player but with better goal scoring ability.

If Sharp plays every game like he did last night, it's a tremendous find for us. Played great defensively, had one of the best scoring chances (darn you Lundqvist), was blazingly fast, and was 7-2 on faceoffs

All I can say is that Sharp is a way better player then Ellison. Carried the puck into their zone and that won us the game after Seabrook held it in and dished it to arny for the shot.
