Hopefully the brief stint in Hartford has helped Erixon transition to the NA game. While he may never be flashy, the kid is supposed to have some serious upside. Although he's still only 20, perhaps this time he sticks for good.

i would find it hard to believe that Sather doesn't make a move of sorts, no way we are going through the next three to four weeks with two call ups on the blue line!

We all know that the Ducks, Caps, Sabres are looking to make some changes, there has to be a dancing partner for us in one of those teams.

Del Zotto has vastly outplayed Sauer this season.

Although MDZ has played better than what we've seen in the past, he still makes dumb decisions at times with the puck, he can be scary!

Well, he's still pretty young, so I think that's to be expected. But I think even his most vocal opponents here would have to agree that he's been one of the Rangers most pleasant surprises of this season.

So who the hell's playing Tuesday? Girardi, MDZ, McD, Woywitka, then who?

Based on the preseason game scrum alone against Philly I wouldn't be against Bell if Woywitcha is hurt too.

Eh, I dont know. Not much you can do when 3 of your top 6 go down. I dont think Im a fan of giving up assets at this point in time for yet another defenseman.

That being said, it would depend greatly on what the true timeline is for Staal and Sauer.

Now is not the time to make a trade for another D man. We have injuries, but we have players with the Whale that can help IF needed (Give Vtank a try...maybe Bell). If we acquire a D man right now, we will be giving up assets, as teams will be seeing our situation and be playing hardball with us. At the same time, if we do acquire another D man, whats going to happen when Staal, McD, Sauer, Girardi, DZ, Emi, Stralman, Woywitka are all healthy?

I am not a fan of our current D right now, but we have the pieces on defense already and I believe the asking price for another piece is simply not going to be worth it.

I would not be opposed to trading for a 2nd pairing Dman at this point, it really is a necessity.
Strålman has been playing 2nd pairing minutes (20 minutes/game0 the last two games and has looked quite good doing it. I tink he gets a chance to prove that he can continue playing with Del Zotto until a better option comes along--which won't happen until after the holiday freeze, unless management completely freaks out and overpays to bring someone in right now.

He has? Sauer forgot more about playing defense than Del Zotto will ever know!

Okay.

That doesn't mean his all-around game hasn't been better. Not to say it has, although I do think Del Zotto has been more valuable to this club this year than Sauer, simply because of the fact that Del Zotto is the only legitimate offensive defenseman this team has at the NHL level. We already have simlar players to Sauer in McDonagh and Girardi.

Del Zotto has played just as much error-free hockey as Sauer, plays more minutes, and brings an offensive dimension. Sauer is a valuable part of this team, but MDZ's been our #3 this season.

Stralman wasn't traded for, he was signed as a free agent.
