And for the 500th time, Hejduk does not get moved! Tanguay goes before Hejduk!

Hejduk, the NHL's last 50-goal scorer and a premier goalscorer despite his slow start, has signed a 5yr $3.9m contract with the Avalanche to stay in Denver! NO GM IN THEIR RIGHT MIND DEALS A GUY WHO MAKES THAT KIND OF COMMITMENT IN THE FIRST YEAR OF THE DEAL!!! Hejduk is easily worth more than $3.9m per and as such represents incredible value in a cap world!

If you want to create a deal like that, add Tanguay not Hejduk! However, I wouldn't bother, because, as has been stated, the Devils don't move Brodeur! Plus you can keep Malakhov (cap reasons, plus we have 8 D-men) and perhaps explain to me how we fit that under our cap! The Devils would be taking $5.8m, I believe! Isn't Brodeur alone making that? And isn't Malakhov paid something ridiculous (I think I read that somewhere)?

you seem to know nothing about anything. say if you were a gm what possible reason would you have to trade away hejduk or brodeur. think about it. no really chew it for a while see how it tastes yeah it tastes like a couple of mentally challenged monkeys having intercourse. i would shove fireworks up my butt if a franchise goalie like brodeur gets traded.

seriously is there a way to stop people from starting up pointless threads?

Everyone, before posting your trade threads, please PM param with your post so that he can pre-approve it. If you don't hear back from him within twenty-four hours, go ahead and post it.

I think that that's a solution we can all live with.

Oh, and if you want a serious answer, the way to stop people from posting "pointless threads" is for people to quit responding to them. Silly.

We see lots of pointless threads in this forum, but this isn't necessarily one of them.

Let's say (purely hypothetically) that Jersey hits a real tough stretch, looks to be out of the playoff run, and decides they want to groom Ahonen as their next goalie. So they deal Marty for a 50 goal scorer with a gentle contract and an average starting goalie who can split 50-50 with Ari for the rest of year, at the same time dealing Malakhov's ridiculous salary to allow Elias back in the lineup.

Likely? Hell no. Possible? Well, probably hell no, but not necessarily pointless either.

Does Colorado do this deal? Nope. Not because of Hejduk, who's expendable if Marty's name comes up, but because NO ONE touches Malakhov with that contract. It's a 1000 ton albatross.

The deal puts both team slightly over the cap.

If the deal puts both team over the cap one of them has to be way over the cap now, or they are already over the cap?

NJ is over the cap if you count Elias' salary. They're going to have to make a move sometime soonish, because when he gets back his salary will count for real (it doesn't right now because of the length of his injury or some such thing)

Brodeur is unlikely to be a part of that move.

Hejduk is rolling with a brace on one leg. Off course he will have a few issues but has been pretty productive as he gets used to it. neither are expendable in my opinion. Everyone is yelling for luongo. I say let it ride till trade deadline time. Fernandez is a UFA next season(I think). If thats the case and MINN is out of the playoffs can't we trade for him. His contract is pretty light and is doing better then Luongo. Plus one game of Kolsenik makes me think we should wait to see who comes out on top. I haven't seen that type of goalie presents in colorado since Roy. I hope Q plays him against Ottawa. I would like to see how he does against that offense. I have a feeling he will run with this if he gets a chance.
