How we lost to such a mediocre team is beyond me. Habs looked terrible and still almost won. It would be nice if someone on this team would act like they give a ****. I see martins clone is going to just plod along with the same tactics that got martin canned in the first place.
Your comment is so distorted that I find it disgusting. Review the third period and report back.
Btw no ice time for Kostitsyn Eller Leblanc, thats how you win games. And play the fourth line more than your best line, great decision too.
I posted about this on the Cunneyworth thread.
There are some strange things going on in Montreal. Martin fired (good), replaced by Cunneyworth....who is given an Assistant Coach who has never coached before (Carriere)........proceeds to sit Emelin for a Bruins game (Martin-like) and then plays his 4th line and sits the Eller line (Martin-like).
Is Cunneyworth trolling us? Is this a set up to make sure no Anglo ever coaches the Habs and to calm the people down, Gauthier will bring back Martin as the Savior with an I told you so?
One of the strangest games ever from a new coach who made all the same decisions as the old coach that he replaced.
Nope, I was wrong I guess, people are still *****ing about the only line that continually kept the Bruins in their zone.
AK/Eller should have been used a bit more, but they had their chances and tonight they were not on. I love those two but they were playing too fancy. Noke's line deserved the ice time they got. The turnovers were the reason we lost. Thomas had a good game. They made less mistakes than us. That's it.
not saying Eller didn't play a good game, but Cunney used that line as much as it needed to be (which was more than most people think).
it has nothing to do with deserving icetime, game is on the line you dont put your fourth line on with 5 min left or less... ever...
as well as these guys may be playing, they're fourth liners for a reason...
say whatever you want about the quality of their play, but Darche has a 0.08 PPG this season, Blunden 1 asst in 11 games and Noke 0.12 PPG...
How do you want Conneyworth to have any kind of grip on this team when the owner basically said he was gonna be fired this summer?? I thought G.Molson was a smart guy.. Guess I was wrong.. Very very stupid statement.. Conney has no more cridibility no matter the decision he will take..
That org. has really become a JOKE!!
maybe the players will be inspired ?
Your coach ,well he is just baby sitter for 50 games...
Ya it sucks, and for both players and coach .
Not sure how players will buy into a coach they know is gone in less than 50 games ....

Problem with that plan is we're stuck with mediocre players that are paid too much which nobody wants so we're stuck with them.. Could be another 2-3 lean years for our Habs yet.
Ah, good times...good times...well, I say bring in St. Patrick then. As long as we're going to suck, there might as well be some drama involved. No offense to Cunnyworth, but with his personality, this is going to become dreadfully boring, really fast.
This is what I remarked to Ollie's post (see above): Stop whining. The Habs can win a lot of games if they play in this spirited manner. It fits your post too, zx81.
Did I whine ? duh
I stated a fact. This team forgot how to win games.
The team has zero confidence right now.
I can't have more confidence in them more than the players themselves.
Being a real habs fan is hard these days... so embarassing to be put in the same basket as all those whiners.
The system is fine, the system doesn't tell Moen to turn the puck over and give the opposing team a guaranteed goal. **** happens, deal with it. And it could have happened with a french speaking coach behind the bench, too. It blows that we're losing but quit being babies!
True.........unless the replacement used the exact same playbook left by Martin. And had an assistant coach standing next to him with zero coaching experience.

Go Carriere Go!!!!!
this is Mickey mouse, expansion franchise like, and our GM only GM'd expansion teams, so no real suprise here.
It's like he is making people wishes come true , who would ever dream Carriere ,a man with no coaching exp at near 60 gets to be asst coach in MTL??? We might as well just pick a fan out of the crowd ,who wants to be asst coach?
This to me signals PG is also a LAME DUCK GM now, he will be gone end of year.
Plekanec +8/-3
Desharnais 0/-5
Nokelainen 0/-5
Eller +2/-2
On the road, Cunneyworth split ten defensive faceoffs between Desharnais and Nokelainen versus zero offensive. Meanwhile, Plekanec had the most offensive role.
Desharnais has not taken a single even-strength faceoff in the offensive zone under Cunneyworth.
I really, really, really don't get what Cunneyworth is trying to accomplish, but I'm pretty sure I don't like it.
Well, at least it's a departure from what Martin was doing?
