I love the fact that Bryz let's up one goal in regulation, and I say one because their 2nd goal was comparable to Briere's vs the Pens..and you guys are ready to crucify our goalie because of a shootout where the Avs shooters were hitting their marks. Give them some credit and stop being overdramatic losers.

I agree with you ! The Rockies are awesome in shootouts, that was some nasty shots by them, and by Briere and JVR for that matter. As banged up as our club is, i can live with a point out of this game....Just gotta keep on digging till some players get back...

The problem people have with Bryz is bigger then this one shootout.

I've been a Bryz supporter for the most part, but absolutely pathetic display.

Meh its a shootout, who cares? They were all pretty good shots by the Avs. I would not call it unacceptable but it is pretty annoying to watch!

Bryz didn't earn criticism just for his SO performance, he earned it by letting in a weak goal as well.

That's the problem right there. It's easy to be the franchise goaltender in ****ing Phoenix. A goalie who has lapses in concentration, lets in soft goals, and appears mentally fragile is not the goalie you want playing for the Flyers. Can you even imagine how ugly it'll be in front of the home crowd if Bryz plays like such a sieve?

That contract is already one of the worst in hockey just for its sheer lunacy... and it's only going to look worse as the years go by.

I understand the "it's a shootout" mentality to defend Bryz, but this isn't soccer. It's not a guessing game, the puck is WORLDS more saveable in this instance, and if you can read the shooter you can stop the puck. The 3 moves put on Bryz were just beauties, but I really wanted to see our #1 stop at least one and keep the team in it.

Those goals are nothing alike. Briere's bounced off two guys at high speed and was airborne. Tonight Bryz let one slide through at slow speed on the ice because he didn't have his stick down. There wasn't much Fleury could do; Bryz, on the other hand...

On a team that has consistently been among the worst in the league on faceoffs, Ben Holmstrom went 6/8 - including 5/6 in the defensive zone. Kind of a small sample size, but that's head and shoulders above most nights for our centremen. Thought he filled in well on the fourth line and is a good option for a call-up.

I'm not calling Bryzgalov a bad goalie or saying we should trade him or anything, but he has to stop at least 1 shot.

I don't blame Read, but I'm wondering why the hell he was chosen over Jagr.

I was clearly joking about Matt Read. He's one of my favorite players this year. Bryzgalov on the other hand.

That's pretty good given what the Flyers run out as their blue line corps.

We all know he hasn't been great so far this year.

But I just have a problem that people are destroying him on here for his poor SO performance tonight.

I guess people don't realize that the Avs are probably the best team in the league at the 'skills competition'.

JVR did something at the end too

Jagr doesn't do shootouts. IIRC.
