Hold on Digger, this is all part of Tambo's master plan and by next year whoever is buying the Kool-Aid this team is magically going to be better and challenging for a playoff spot.

very much true... our d is atrocious, as everybody knew it would be going into the season... even if the kids all turn out the way we want, we still need to fix the blue line to have any hope of the playoffs next year

I have a feeling that Renney preaches playing for the OT/SO instead of playing for the win.

Can we bring MacT back? He coached much worse teams than the one we have now...and never finished in last place with him.

Ya somebody posted it in the PGT in the San Jose game.

All our D do is dump the puck back into the corners. They are terrible at getting shots through to the net.

Hall played like he had a 10 cent brain tonight. Where is some hockey IQ when you need it?

Same reason we suck at early and mid game situations.

That 3rd period told it all. It's not like the Red Wings were bamboozling the Oilers with talented tic-tac-toe plays all over the ice, they simply played with more intensity, and with a greater investment in the game's outcome.

That's the difference between a winner, and a wannabe who's always looking for silver linings so they can keep the tears back.
Well said.

It all comes back to leadership I think. I believe someone mentioned it was a great multiplier that cannot be judged by stats.

Hall could be that player, as could RNH or Eberle, but as of now, our current captain is not that player.

I'm seriously rethinking Horcoff as captain, and even though his feelings will be hurt and we'll look bad, I'm considering if its better for us too pull a Dallas and strip him of the captaincy.

Other teams have an NHL quality defense core. We don't.

Bottom line is oilers D dont come close to matching the ability of our forwards..if our forwards get a B, then our Defence gets an F-

WTF are you talking about? Hall has a great game, he was the best player on the ice for either team. Seriously dude, don't comment on the game if you only saw 5 minutes of it.

I remember going to a game last season in LA when the wings were in town and I was talking to a Kings fan about Ryan Smyth. This fan was telling me how slow Ryan Smyth looked as a King but with the quick start he had out the gate, I really thought it was just a fan who was talking out of her ass.

Truth be told, Ryan Smyth does look slow right now and it really seems like he's out of gas!

Maybe the wear and tear over the past several seasons is finally showing. :-(

It really was a shame because his speed had the Wings on their heels, he just needs to learn to better use his linemates.

Dude, didn't you just say that you didn't watch the game tonight?

Hall was damn near our best player tonight, and adds a dynamic that this team sorely lacks when he is not on the ice.

For all you "glass half full" people, listen...

We lost.

The "effort level" doesn't matter.

We're supposed to exert effort. That should be a given.

In the NHL, you win games.

You don't get points for "hanging with the other team" for 40 minutes and then ******** the bed.

This is when you officially know that you have a culture of losing.

Considering that Dallas has missed the playoffs the last three years, I don't think we should be copying them.

Saw all I need to see. Skated miles and did nothing. Filled the net, did he? Got a whack of assists?

Hemsky had a good game today. Was making moves with the puck and looking like the old Hemsky.

Hopefully he builds on it and turns it up.

That falls on Tambellini and does anyone here believe that it will be better by next year, I certainly don't. Most of the blame should be on his shoulders not Renney's.

So what your saying is stripping Modano of the captaincy, has caused them to miss the playoffs the last 3 seasons?

Talk about reaching.
