there is no point putting in Emelin to play a physical game against the Bruins

would have been much worse if we woke them up last night

There's a point since he's a better D than Diaz, Gill or Campoli.

Campoli is god ****ing awfully stupid. Moen didn't get it out and he decides to go for a seat on the ice. Way to take yourself out of the play.... as the last man back.... again.

That coin has two sides. Some fans think that the Habs should win regardless of their roster and style of play.

"We should win the Stanley Cup this year"

"We have the best prospects/forwards/defense/goalie/fans/fill-in-the-blank"

The Habs are a mid pack team, and if they play over their heads they can be competitive with the best teams in the league.

So?

We lost to an Anglophone coach in the conference finals two years ago.
Anglophone coaches competed for the cup finals two years ago.
Just as last year two bilingual coaches (ex-Habs) competed for the cup.

Bilingual does not mean better. Unilingual does not mean better. It's all about finding the right guy for the job. The best coach available.

Reigning Stanley Cup Champions.

Yes, they are the best team in the league until they lose in the play-offs this year.

Yes they are. For some reason they seem to be average against us but they are really solid in every aspect and beat the hell out of anyone except us which I don't understand

....language discussions are one of the reasons why Boston fans call out Habs fans for being weenies.

They have a point.

Just last year you were saying how they are ''grossly overrated'' and a bubble team.

This year when they started struggling, you said, ''proof that their cup win was a streak of great fortune and Thomas playing over his head''

AAhhh...lol

Come on man...

This team can only go as far as Gauthier can take them... and he never leaves his own head so...

Isn't that envy on your part? They're roaring through the league. Look at their record since their miserable start.

I don't think that's true.

I think that some fans (myself included) feel that management hasn't tried enough to ice the best roster possible. Mgmt has been lazy in how we've gone about building our team and it's not surprising in the least that our roster isn't good enough to win.

And yes we SHOULD be working harder to build better teams.

That can be said of the Islanders too. Any team can play over their heads for a night or even a 7 game series. Over the long haul though, weaker teams fall in the standings and the better ones are at the top. And at the end of the day it's almost always higher ranked teams that win cups.

That's the result of being under the oppression of JM.. and I have a feeling Gauthier and JM are two peas in a pod... quiet, secretive, CERTAIN of their methods.... As long as Gauthier is around the young core is not free to play to their potential.. no matter what he says or acts like, its in his eyes, his ego is first and foremost.. my surprise is that a smart business man (actually.. i haven't read anything on this guy so maybe he isn't so smart) like Molson can't see where this is going under the management of Gauthier..

It was very, very unhelpful for Desharnais to lose 13 of 15 faceoffs, which kept Cole and Pacioretty defending instead of attacking. That flaw must be corrected or else the Habs will be handicapped.

Would you base your judgment on their horrible start?
Would you base your judgment on their super hot streak?

Bruins are good, but they're not that good, certainly not the best team in the NHL. Just like Minnesota isn't the 2nd or 3rd best team.

in the thick of things
'just have to make the playoffs the rest is a crap shoot'

If you only knew how much time and energy I spent trying to explain this very simple fact.

And here I was naive enough to think it was only fans on the internet who thought JM was the problem. I never dreamed actual professionals making decisions in the NHL could not see something so glaringly obvious.
