Oldest living NHLer?

Red Horner has been gone a few years now, so are Milt Schmidt and Elmer Lach candidates?

Carr played for the Leafs for a few years, so he`d be the oldest Leaf.

I believe Ray Getliffe is the oldest living ex-Hab at 91. I can`t think of any others.

Both players got to spend a day with the Stanley Cup last summer. Their stories are here:

They'd have strokes after paying witness to the rampant homerism here.

Homerism has been around forever. The internet and today's fan didn't invent it. In many ways, when you look at the media, homerism has probablely dropped since the early NHL days.

No, he`s only 77. Ted Lindsay and Red Kelly are both older than Gordie, and there`s probably lots of guys older than them.

Dutch Hiller passed away on Saturday from congestive heart failure. He had been unwell for the past six months or so. Up until then he golfed and walked a lot. We was a charter member of the ROMEOs, Retired Old Men Eating Out, a group of retirees in Montrose, Ca. who met for breakfast every day at the local Burger King.

He brought the Stanley Cup to breakfast in early June to share it with his buddies.

Won the Cup in 1940 with the Rangers, assisting on the Cup-winner and again in '46 with the Habs. Remembered by teammates as a wonderful fellow, a great teammate and a good man. Also one of the fastest skaters of his era.

I looked through a bunch of hall of fame profiles and the oldest I found were Elmer Lach and Milt Schmidt (with Elmer Lach older by a few months). There may be an older hall of famer though.
