LOL, the guy who voted "something else" is a diehard Leafs fan. Go figure.

I'm assuming that 'yotes fans have higher defensive expectations with Tippet in charge. That's the only explanation I can think of.

Good game tonight, thought both teams got away with a lot of calls, the Sabres in the first half and us in the second half. The game was much closer than the score indicates.

I was hoping Chris Neil would get a goal tonight, he was one of the hardest working players on either team.

On a different note, I think Marcus Foligno should stick with the Sabres, he had a very good first NHL game despite not showing up on the scoresheet.

I didn't think he touched it either, but saw it on the boxscore, which is why I asked about it.

I voted B, but I expected him to be a B in his first game as a Senator. Overall I'm pleased with his performance.

Alfredsson was amazing tonight. Spezza and Karlsson were great, as well. Condra, Cowen and Smith had solid games.

Some miscues and dumb penalties but over-all a great effort. Karlsson playing like a superstar was reassuring for me after dealing Rundblad. Spezza continues his awesome play. Cowen was his typical calming presence and jumped up a few times.

Turris didn't really impress me but I suppose one has to make allowances for first game with a new team and also it being only his 7th game of the season. Obviously his shot is outstanding and that statline of +2, 1 assist, and 7 for 9 on face-offs is terrific as well. Defensively he was very good. If he can gel with his linemates such that they find him open for a shot he can be a weapon for us. But he certainly didn't do that much offensively today.

Was there a better forward defensively for the Sens tonight?

Buffalo are missing sooo many players. It can be really easy to let up. I'm glad the Sens didn't.

Maybe Neil? But I didnt expect Turris to be that good in his own end. I was impressed.

I was hoping Neil broke Gaustad's face after ramming Winnie into the boards.

So is Turris a healthy scratch next game? Butler works really hard and has a great shot too.

Not sure, but we will found sometime soon. I may know that Milan Michalek could return.

Count me in the minority I guess but I wasn't overly impressed with Turris' play...

Fantastic defensively, terrible strength-wise, meh offensively.

Not the guy I wanted for Rundblad and a 2nd.

Solid game except for the few senseless penalties in the 2nd. Anderson A+ Neil A+ Karlsson A+ Spezza A+ Condra A+ and Alfie A+ games. Everyone else B+. No coasters tonight.

I gave Turris a B+ only because he didn't carry the play for his line. Foligno deserves a lot of credit for carrying the line especially in the 1st period. To be fair Kyle must have been really nervous at first and all the penalties in the 2nd threw the line changes off. Turris's face-offs were pretty impressive when you see how often he was able to negate the opposing centre win or lose. His skating is very good and his defensive play was first rate. He worked the boards much better and although he's not overly physical he used the body more in the 3rd once he found his legs.

It's great having a base reference game to judge the kid rather than being totally dependent on other people's opinion.

Let me know when Butler has a good game defensively, can take a pass, goes 7/9 on faceoffs and isn't an offense killer.

I was hoping Konopka would actually make himself useful and do that. I'm finding nowadays that Neil is too important of a player for the Sens to be spending 5 mins in the box.

I agree with you. I gave him a B+ grade but only because of his fantastic second effort and pass on the Sens 2nd goal. Otherwise, he didn't do any more than Filatov did when he was in the lineup. But this was also his first game with the Sens, so that assist means quite a bit.

I give Turris and the team an A+. I was heading to BC today, hit an ice patch, my vehicle went side ways and then rolled over in a ditch in the mountains. My girlfriend, my cat and myself all survived and left with only minor scratches and wounds. It was a nice to watch a hockey tonight, things taken for granted most days.

I have watched 4 of his games of his, 2 this year, 2 from Detroit series...never anything but completely aware on d. A better player than he showed.
