2 more goals tonight for Gabby! 19 goals in 31 games is pretty good if you ask me. The chances for 50 keeps on rising, lets just hope he is healthy.

I think he ends with 42 or so. Assuming good health.

Yeah, "jinx" thread.

Where are all those strange and wonderful posters? I'd be willing to bet they are preparing for a "certain someone's" arrival in a few days

And by calculations you mean pulling up NHL.com's splits.

I am going with 44.

It doesn't really matter too much where he finishes though, I'm just happy to have the old Gaborik back.

43 would be nice. That would be a career high for Gabby.

He's not 'going around bushes' this year.

And Anisimov's got more tricks 'in his pocket'.

Gabby should hopefully break 40, maybe top out at around 45. That's a very solid number and an even better comeback year.

It's obvious that guys like D-Step and Anisimov are benefiting from him too. I'd love to see Torts keep that line, we've (usually) had no trouble scoring with those 3 on the ice, but I'm sure he'll keep scoring goals regardless of who's next to him.

42-45 sounds about right. Career year. He's playing well, and it's nice that there are some games where he manages to find the net even though he's not playing an outstanding game for 60 minutes.

The funny thing is, he hasn't even been playing with Richards much. A lot of us thought getting that playmaker would help him a lot.

Gaborik is just a totally different player from last year.

its amazing how most of his goals aren't even that flashy. he just knows how to score. when he's around the net you RARELY see him miss on a scoring chance.

True, he does have that old knack of finding the net and just getting things done in a simple way, but the fact that he can bust out a jaw-dropper at any time makes him that much more dangerous.

A huge part of this line's success is Anisimov. He literally does all the dirty work. Carries the puck up the ice, battles on the boards, creates turnovers, passes well.

It frees up Stepan to do what he does well...feed the sniper
It frees up Gaborik to do what he does well...bury pucks

He got his playmaker, alright.

His name is Derek Stepan.

(Anisimov has helped, too, significantly. He creates a lot of the two on ones they get with his defensive awareness...but Stepan has been setting up Gaborik with tap ins)

Can't believe there are still people who advocate trading this guy. Absolute treat to watch and just an awesome hockey player.

Exactly. I have no doubt Gabby and Richie could mesh given time together.

But why even bother when Stepan is playing a role much like Vinny Prospal did here- he knows how to get Gabby the puck. Period.

Arty is a huge part of that line, too, and there you have it- no need to put Richie with him.
