Because of the player who made the hit and it was a hit from behind i think it could be suspendable.

Foligno Turris Alfredsson
Regin Smith Condra
Daugavins Konopka Neil

would be my guess.

One thing I learn from MacLean is he must really believe a player has to take someone's job by being better or they don't get played.

I felt he was never really comfortable playing Rundblad; certainly not Filatov and now Butler. I think he'd play Lee more if he could, but Carkner needed a look and does add a dimension.

Based on last night, Turris shows a lot of promise and hopefully will solidify the 2C as we've needed that for years.

Butler could be moved at some point for a pick if someone was looking. I would however be interested in seeing if their was anything at all between Turris and Butler before that happened.

Winchester looks out for a time and will have to take his place back from Konopka, probably into the new year.

Hoping he has a speedy recovery. I expect Gaustad to get a call from the Shana-ban since there was a head injury on the play, regardless of how the ref called it. Granted, we've also seen Brendan do nothing in other instances of collisions resulting in concussions since it wasn't directly to the head so who knows....

Since when is cross checking allowed? Especially cross check causing injury?

You do know that when a player hold his stick in both hands and does a pushing motion hitting a player, with the point of contact being on the shaft in between the aggressors hands, it's a crosscheck.

Welcome to hockey.

It was a cross check, it doesn't matter where he hit him.

It doesn't have to be a hit to the head or a hit from behind to catch shanahans attention.

A cross check sending a player violently into theboards causing a concussion should be looked at in any circumstance all the time IMO.

Shanana has yet to call a suspension for injuries sustained by an Ottawa player except for one small fine. Not for the elbow on Alfie which caused a concussion, a spear on Neil, a butt end / elbow to Foligno's head or 2 knee on knee against Foligno.

Waiting to see what tune he sings this time.

I am pretty sure Carkner went up to Gaustad as soon as the whistle blew and wanted no part of Carkner. Unless I am thinking of a different play

You're thinking of the correct play, Konopka came over too. Gaustad also weaseled out when Neil confronted him after he had elbowed Regin (?); we got the PP and got the insurance goal.

Any word on whether Shanahan will spin the wheel of justice on this one?

Yeah it was reported earlier today that nothing will be done. Gotta love the level playing field.

no penalty, no suspension. guess it was a good hockey play. so we should be seeing a lot more of that then. pretty good way to gain an advantage on your opponent, just knock them the **** out when they are most vulnerable and it's within the rules

Since when is boarding legal? I have no idea how that wasn't a penalty and why nobody seems to be talking about it.

Disgusting.

McQuaid got fined $2500 for kneeing Foligno. That's the only thing I can think of.

Of all the "should the league review this?" moments related to the sens this year, I thought that was the least likely to result in anything, (not including the Crosby elbow to Foligno in front of the net, but that probably shouldn't even qualify).

Just goes to show what I know when it comes to supplementary discipline under the current regime.

I'll be calling Shanana, Bowser from now on cause he's a *** comedian!

Bowser's flunky says "boss we have more hits in the back causing a concussion to review"
Bowser: Which case do we look at first?
Flunky: The Ottawa and Buffalo game
Bowser: Who got hurt?
Flunky: Winchester of Ottawa
Bowser: Next case

Can't wait for Winchester to return and replace Konopka. I'm getting tired of seeing Konopka and his line pinned in our end.

I'm not sure it's Konopka's fault, but the 4th line needs a change, or at least the threat of one to get back on track.

I had no complaints about Konopkas performance. Wins most faceoffs, generally defensively responsible and doesnèt cost us goals.

Yeah, I think they should just make sure that it's never Daug + Konopka + Butler on the ice all at the same time. Double-shift Neil, Condra or Greening to help that 4th line out.
