I would hope if they are going the ECHL route, they at least look at someone who may have some offensive potential in the AHL. Gongalsky isn't that.

Who says it have to be the only move?

Yeah, at least they know what they're getting with him.
There's not much in Gwinnett as far as scoring or even experience (they have some, I guess, but none have been that good in the AHL), so they might as well go with someone they are familiar with.

The ECHL is under scouted for the most part, so it's really a crapshoot if you're going to try to find guys from other teams.

I don't think they're limiting themselves to Gwinnett. Rankin came from Toledo. Maybe they could start with the top scorer in the league, Chad Costello. Possibly Mike Radja, who has had some moderate success in the AHL before.

In regards to those they are familiar with in the ECHL, Chris Clackson played a game or two earlier in the year. Maybe they'll bring him back.

Yuck, I hope not. He played with the Amerks last season, too. Really a non factor anytime I've seen him.

Another interesting angle to look for--any former NTDP'ers whom Rolston has a history with available in the ECHL? Granted, I can't imagine too many kids from that program flaming out to the extent they are playing in the ECHL (they're brought in to that program for a reason--usually because they're really good players, and I imagine many of them will still be in college), but just putting it out there.

There are actually already like five players from the NTDP that he'd be familiar with that are already in the ECHL, but none would be particularly useful as most are defensemen.
There's Mike Ratchuk though..

Morrisonn suspended one game for an elbow to the head on Friday in San Antonio, which was two games ago.
He'll miss tomorrow's game vs. Lake Erie.

Would he have been healthy enough to play?

I'd like to see Craig Rivet get some of that tryout contract action.

2 0 so far. I am watching. Voakes with the first and persson with the other both on the powerplay. The powerplay is looking good.

As much as I dislike the lack of moves by Buffalo, these guys work so hard. Total opposite of watching a Sabres game. I still don't expect them to win, but they give you an effort.

Now that I am home from school I am able to watch the Amerks more now but so far it seems Rolston is doing well with what's being given.

Must be refreshing to see a team that works like that.

And on that note, time to move on to Part II of the thread.
