NHL Network Gets A New Logo & Nightly Show

NHL Network is getting an upgrade. From Paranoid Puck:
Quote:
NHL Network has had plenty of logos and on air looks during its short history. It is poised for its biggest change in just a few days. Just in time for the Winter Classic and NHLN-USí coverage of the World Junior Championships, NHLN will be getting a whole new look. New idents, logos, and programs are on the way.
There's some links to a new bumper with the logo in animation and the opening of the new NHL Tonight highlights show. Looks very cool.

Not sold on the logo, but the return of NHL Tonight in some form is something I wholeheartedly endorse.

Plus, it means more diversity of programming for NHLN, which they desperately need.

I don't care much about a new logo, or a new looking set, or even new commentators - but for God's sake, please Please PLEASE return to the original format for NHL on the Fly, where the entire games highlights were shown (goals, hits, saves) with NO ONE talking over them!!!! That drives me absolutely insane.

I enjoy the logo. Pretty simple.

We'll see about these new programs they speak of. Anything new can be a potential help.

I feel ripped off watching this channel because bell doesnt carry it in HD .

I guess they want people to watch highlights on TSN instead.

conflict of interest much ?

This. The amount of time I spend watching NHL Network is directly linked to the quality of On the Fly, which is to say I have been watching less and less of it.

NHL announcement of changes, along with a schedule from 12/29 (when they are at CBP in advance of Winter Classic).

On the Fly will continue with live game look ins, etc. The new NHL Tonight will be the equivalent of "On The Fly: Final" (but starting before the PT games even drop the puck; not clear on how they'll handle updates from the western/late games).
