It's just a matter of the makeup of the team and whether you can push the right buttons at the right time."
"He's one of those guys where if you're not playing well he's going to tell you, and if he likes what you do he's probably going to tell you the same thing. I like when you know where you stand. There's no guessing games.
I got a scouting report on Sutter from former King Scott Thornton, who played for Sutter in San Jose. Thornton said he hated him while he played for him, but looking back, he said it was some of the best hockey he's played as a professional."

If you’re not, then it’s not just going to be Terry who is gone, it’s going to be other guys going out the door as well. Nobody wants that. Everybody wants to see if we can win with this group. Guys want to win with this group. And I want to stay here. I think everybody does. So we’ve got to get behind Darryl right away, and if that’s what you guys are calling it, a new voice that’s going to give us a push, then yeah, I definitely hope that’s what it’s going to take. You want to prove that you can help this team. You want to prove that you can be part of something good here, and not be part of the problem. That’s not a bad thing."

We’ve heard a lot of good things from different people around the league, and I’ve been talking to some players who have played for him and I’ve heard nothing but good things."

We had some long stretches where we held onto the puck and had some really sustained offensive-zone time and created a lot of good looks at the net. We just felt that in this game, we really had to try to spend some time in the offensive zone, because they’re such a good offensive team. I really felt it wasn’t just Kopi and Stolly’s line. We had all the lines getting the puck in deep and hanging onto it, making plays. So to get two points out of this game at the end of the trip, and go home 2-2, it’s an important two points. If you give up a point to an Eastern Conference team, so be it. It’s the two points that we needed, so it was a big two points."

I think X’s and O’s of this team is as good as there is in the game, One thing that hasn't changed in this game … it's men playing a boys' game and there is some emotion involved and I think that's what I have to get out of them."

LET'S GO KINGS !!!

- UPCOMING SCHEDULE -

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Obviously I don't expect Sutter to have everything in place after one practice, but it would be nice to get a win for him at his career opener with us.

Nobody knows for sure, but it is assumed he will. Depends on how he feels. If he feels ready then the Kings will clear him and put him in the lineup.

Hopefully it'll be a game to enjoy. Hope for a win, but more importantly I hope to see the same Kings that played against Toronto out there against the Shmucks.

Go Kings!!!

Kings only have about 15 regulation losses to give away and still make the playoffs. Tonight better not be one of them. You can't lose to a team, at home, that only has 9 wins on the season.

Go Kings! Kick some ass!

Hopefully game 1 under a new coach will motivate this team and if Richards feels well enough to play ,that's even a bigger factor.
He'll be fired up and primed...also the Kings are 12-2 when Richards gets a point, so here's hoping he plays and has a good night.

Maybe with him back on the PP, they can actually pot one.

This a a good first game for Sutter Butters to coach.
The players always get excited for the freeway faceoff and the Ducks play a physical game.

Color me excited and Color Me Badd

I don't think it has been announced yet, but I can't imagine him going with Bernier in a divisional game. I would expect Quick to play the next 3 games. Then there are back-to-back road games against Chicago and Winnipeg, Bernier will get one of those. Sutter could always thrown Bernier to the wolves and play him against Chicago.

I would go with Bernier in goal tonight. We're playing the 2nd worst team in the league tonight (how great is it to say that? lol) and we gotta fly to San Jose tomorrow and play the Sharks. Bernier tonight, Quick Tomorrow IMO

Classic. This seems like the perfect storm for the Kings:new coach, new attitude, the real captain Mike Richards is back and they're playing the Ducks. That said if the 1st period ends 0-0 I'm gonna grab a bottle of vodka and complain to my dog.
