be physical with Grabner, that will negate his speed.

That is not just the defencemans job. Being physical with him starts at his opposing winger.

we need the guys up front to put bodies on this guy.

Not feeling overly optimistic about these next two days.

You gotta think that Biron's numbers will start regressing to his average eventually.... Hopefully not tonight.

2-1 loss

what a difference in talent

The Rangers have stars with Richards and Gaborik. I still think Richards should be centering Gaborik. Richards was brought here to be the #1 center.

The Isles don't have any stars. Tavares is getting close but not consistent enough.

I wonder if the Islanders fans think their team is a lot better than ours like every Devils fan started saying after the last game (and that was 4-1 WIN for gods sake..)

Rangers win 6-1.

20-8-4 is a awesome record!

Gabby scores a hatty which makes 22 and leads the leagues in goals
Richards scores a 1 goal and 2 assists
Callahan scoess 2 and a assist
Rupp scores a goal!

The way the Anisimov-Stepan-Gaborik line is producing, there's absolutely no need to split them up.

The thing is that when he was a starter, he wasn't consistent. His numbers might say he can be a starter, but in the long run, he will break down.

This is Hagelin's game, 1+2 tonight..

We'll win this one if we shot high, often and screen theire goalie..

He'd be a perfect fit in places like Tampa and even Washington before they got Vokoun. He can play 30-40 games a season, not be a #1 goalie and still put up those kind of number. To use a baseball reference, he's a perfect platoon goalie.

If we beat the Islanders and the Flyers tomorrow, we will be tied with the Flyers and they will have the tiebreaker.

I wouldn't say he was inconsistent like others have said. He was a starter, and deservedly so. He was VERY good for 3 years as a starter in Buffalo (72 games, 2.22 GAA, .915 SV%; 54 games, 2.56 GAA, .908 SV%; 52 games, 2.52 GAA, .913 SV%), to the point where some questioned whether or not they had a goalie controversy over which to keep between Biron and Ryan Miller. THAT's how good he was as a starter. He also had one very good year as a starter for the Flyers. 5 of the 6 years he was a starter (50+ games), he was actually a very legit starting goalie. Obviously not Lundqvist, but I don't understand why people think the Rangers would be so royally screwed if the King went down for 20 games. Biron has demonstrated the ability to hold down the fort very well as a starter. I obviously hope that it doesn't happen, but the Rangers are extremely lucky to have a legit starting option backing up one of the best in the world, especially at that price.

Gaborik is doing fine where he is and so is Richards. No reason to put lines together based off NHL video games. You can talk about line 1 or line whatever what really matters in ice time. What Torts has going is working and if it stops then maybe a change.

Tavares 'star power' is pretty much up there with Richards, just saying.

very surprised to find myself typing this, but i think i'd rather see Avery in the spot where Mitchel is

i'm a far cry from an Avery supporter, but Mitchel hasn't shown me much recently and i feel like sean could be a good fit with those 2

Not crazy bout Avery but certainly see your point, these are games where he has been effective.

thats an awesome idea

take something thats working great, and **** it up for no apparent reason other than a preseason expectation based on pure speculation ...that nonetheless proved to be underwhelming and not in the best interest of the club

you should run for office, i think you'd fit in well

I am not the biggest avery fan either, but with games against the devils, isles and flyers this is the week you would expect to see him, and probably when he could actually make a difference.

I think Avery should be in full time over Mitchell, especially during this stretch of games. I can understand why he's out some games, but he should definitely play against the liked of the Devils/Isles/Flyers
