this is a bit odd

Anisimov upset about something post-game, doesn't want to speak to media. Says he's not mad at media, just in "a bad mood."

Tough to find a bad or Redden tonight which is awesome.

Pretty much everything I want to say has been said. Marty made some huge saves early (how awkward is it to hear a Marty chant at MSG), MDZ had a PHENOMENAL game, and Dubi played great. Rest of the d played well (call out to Bickell for adding some quality grit) and Boyle had a great night in all 3 zones.

Decent game overall.

POTG: MDZ

Good: Dubi-Boyle-Mitchell line was fantastic tonight. Boyle had a great game, good for him. Biron was good.

Bad: Nobody was particularly bad.

It's hilarious seeing how badly the Islanders have failed with player development. Bailey is non-existent, Okposo is lazy as ****, and Nino (who was never that great to begin with) was invisible.

And is it just me or do we always get ****ed by the officials in large scrums like that? We either always get the extra penalty, or get screwed and have it evened up when the opposing player blatantly did something bad.

And I also noticed MDZ looking pissed throughout. Whatever, if it keeps him playing like this.

Hopefully they didn't find out someone else was injured, or that an injured player suffered a setback.

More likely they're upset at something that happened in the game, possibly that the Islanders did

Del Zotto is now +20 on the year which means he's now erased his rookie year's -20, and is now a career -5 player. I thought it'd take him a few years to chip away at that number, though it is early in the year.

Yeah, I'm curious about why MDZ and AA seemed po'd, hopefully it's just being on the same ice as the Islanders that did it.

I'm sure it's nothing. Last time everyone thought Avery and Del Zotto were yelling at each other and then Dubi had to reprimand Avery. What happened to that one? No need to read too much into facial expressions or guys being irritated after the game.

The Redden would be the special teams play.

Did AA take another shift after that slash to his hand in the 3rd?

Anisimov is probably twisted about, and in pain from, the slash he took.

Del Zotto was in a good mood for his post game interview with Trautwig.

i thought he was just putting on his serious face as the HBO camera guy was filming him as he came out for the 1st star

I know that everyone knows that Girardi is awesome, but once again he just quietly (along with McD) just shut down their top line tonight.

I voted: Girardi, McD & MDZ, but obviously there were many others who played well and deserve mention.

Big night tomorrow...

this is one of my first posts so ill try not to sound like an ass. Bickel looks like a man possessed when hes in someones face. if he connects with any of his heymakers hell put someone in the hospital.

the dubi-boyle-mitchell line was awesome tonight. and is it me or is the anisimoc-stepan-gaborik line quietly becoming one of the best in the league.

Gentlemen (and ladies), this is my first post. I watch most of the games on my DVR (live in Arizona so the game is on too early for me to watch live). I have seen Ranger games since the old Garden on 8th Avenue and 49th Street. Used to sleep outside the Garden for end balcony tickets, which cost $2. Also have played with a few Rangers (and a few Islanders in the 80's). Love reading all your posts, Rangers are developing beauutifully, but are a year or two or a player or two away. The defense is young and phenomenal, but they don't generate enough in the offensive zone - too much looking to pass, cough up the puck, and they casn't hit the broad side of a barn half the time (MDZ shot was great, though, isn't he something, he belongs on the All-Star team if he plays like this always). Power play, however, is atrocious, except for Gaborik, they're always looking to pass until someone makes a mistake. Richards is also very unimpressive. Look forward to communicating with y'all, as I have very little to do with my life (LOL - I work a lot, actually). BTW, life in Az is much nicer than NY, except the Coyotes aren't going to get good until they become something like the Saskatoon Coyotes. Also, I can help you learn how to handle rattlesnakes!

MDZ has really come into his own this year. The physicality he's shown this year is quite astonishing coming from where he was as a rook. Torts has actually done a great job with him.

That's who bought tickets for the Saturday game the Rangers won on Richards' goal. The Phoenix fans came disguised as empty seats.
