Not saying he did or didnt deserve to be cut but the way they went about the final cuts is a joke if in fact correct, call all players in for a breakfast meeting, ring off the 23 names who made team ask them to leave the room then hand out plane tickets to the remaining 6.....that's bush league imo!
i understand the motive behind preferring players from the NTDP. anyone would. USA Hockey is pouring a lot of money into the programme, scouting across the country to find high school (and sometimes younger) players to join the programme.
having a roster of mostly NTDP gives them a clear benchmark on where they feel their development is at, in comparison to kids coming up the CHL route, on the world's biggest stage where the best U20's come to play. is it unfair to players trying out for the national team? sure, but it's not without its reasons.
