I like Jones a lot, but he is a really injuryprone. There is three players, who I like get from Avalanche: David Jones, Daniel Winnik (UFA 2012) and T.J. Galiardi (RFA 2012). Jones is best scorer, but also Winnik and Galiardi have speed, size and a little bit scoring.

I can't understand those Calgary tradeproposals. Flames 35 GP, 36 pts, 2 game winningstreak. I just don't belive that they are sellers, they are still in playoffhunt. I think that only four-five teams has lost their playoffhopes - Anaheim, Columbus, Carolina, Tampa and Montreal. These teams are selling their players, no team like Calgary.

And Francois Beuachemin is a lot better two-way d-man than Jack Johnson.

So does that mean you want to trade all the guys on the team who have more turnovers than him as well?

No, because Johnson has som trade-value and we have too many defensemen.

What would it take to get Stafford and Kaleta from Buffalo? Stoll+?

And in 3 years before 2010-2011 he scored a total of 20 goals and is on pace for 19 this year. Seems like last year may have been an aberration.

What is your obsession with Grabner? I don't think I have seen a single post in this thread save from Stafford kaleta that didn't involve Grabner.

HE IS GOING NO WHERE. The Isle needs him no way he is gone. Young, fastest player in the league and he can score.

In regards to buffalo I'd be interested in what Derek Roy is worth these days. Not happy with him in Buff.

And 3 of the guys ahead of him are defensemen as well.

We lack some speed on the two top lines. I believe Grabner would be a great fit and he has scoring touch as you mentioned.

I have also mentioned something around Johnson for JVR earlier in this thread!

Not a fan of Grabner at all. In our system, I'd put money on him scoring no more than 20 goals.

Why would the Islanders get rid of him?

The Kings need an able bodied, hard and accurate shooting winger who can come down the wing and blast shots and willfully drive to the net. Net presence has been a big problem for this team this season. They need a player who will come out of the corners and make a b-line right to the net.

Jarome Iginla is that man.

I have not said that they want to get rid of him! I said that Streit is injuryprone and they need a PMD. Of course they could use the draft to pick a defenseman in the 1st round this year, but he'll need some time to develop. I believe Johnson can learn a lot from Streit.

I don't see the Flyers doing that. They value JVR too much, it would probably have to include Brown or Kopitar.

I get that people are high on Voynov, but he's only played 19 games in the NHL. That's too soon to know if he really makes JJ redundant.
You have too many of one thing. If Im looking to upgrade by getting a first line LW or even a 2nd line LW, Im going to move JJ before I would move Voynov or DD. I dont really care that Voynov has 19 games. You can see the skill when he plays. He has "it". JJ on the other hand is very skilled, but is dumb as the day is long. He doesnt seem to make much progress either. Sometimes those kind of players never get it.

You NEVER know with Holmgren! They traded Carter and Richards!

He knew that the team needed a solid goalie and I'm sure he know that he has to improve the defense. Matt Read has been great this season, so they will not miss JvR that much.

Just for informational purposes, Stewart isn't on the outs with Hitchcock or not seeing eye to eye. Some Blues fans are saying Stewart doesn't fit in Hitchcock's system, the translation for which is Stewart has been pretty bad this year period and it's a way of saying "he's still good, other teams' fans, he's a blameless victim of circumstance." Yeah, when your coach asks you to play fierce backchecking game and you were loafing before he arrived, your continued loafing doesn't look good in the new system. He's actually been better under Hitchcock on the whole (not saying too much there) and the last few games he's been noticeably better. Tonight he was swapped into Oshie's spot on the line with Steen and Backes and was involved in some scoring opportunities. We'll see. He really was awesome after the trade last year. His history is so hot/cold.

Though I wouldn't object, I don't think there's any urgency for the Blues to trade him this season. I'd like to see him bounce back, finish out the season strongly if possible and then be swapped for JJ in the offseason. Blues have two blue chip wingers RW Tarasenko (who won't spend a minute in the minors) and very possibly LW Schwartz turning pro to swell the ranks. Today the Blues gave word McDonald has begun skating again, and he's signed through next season.
